Great New Restaurant!
Submitted Monday, September 1, 2008 - 5:03pm [Dine in]

I will preface this review by noting that I eat Japanese/Sushi probably every 2 weeks, at various locations. This restaurant BY FAR has the best Japanese food I've ever had!

It's a nice little location tucked into a condo complex. There's a slight view of the water, but has very nice scenery around as it's a bit of an upscale condo complex. It's pretty small, and fills up relatively quickly.

The food is amazingly fresh, and you get very large portions! My husband and I both had the dinner box. It was huge and came with salad and miso soup to start, then ice cream to finish!

Sooo tasty! My husband had been here about 5 or so times before me, but I will definitely be going back!

The only down side is that they don't have a liquor license yet, but they've only been open a few weeks, so I'm sure they'll have it soon!

This is a great little Mexican place that we've been talking about going to for quite some time but we were hesitant because of it's location and the look from outside.

The staff is super friendly and the food is quick, cheap, huge, and super tasty! My husband and I just got back from Mexico a couple weeks back and I think the food at this place was much better than what we had in Mexico!

We'll definitely go back!

Not impressed!

Great atmosphere here, and very friendly staff, but sadly the friendliness doesn't make up for the slowness. We were often left with empty drinks for a while and had to ask numerous times for refills.

The server was so busy gabbing about himself that he never took the time to ask how our food was. I had the pallia and it didn't have a whole lot of flavour, nope... Didn't have any flavour! The clams weren't cleaned properly and I was constantly biting down on sand, the mussles were near raw, and the whole thing tasted really seafoody, and not in a good way. I barely touched my food, and yet our 'experienced' server who had worked there for 8 years took it away and asked me if I wanted it boxed up! I said no, it wasn't very good and I wont eat it later so he just simply took it away! Didn't bother asking me if I wanted something else or offer a discount. I was really disappointed! Probably wont be going back in a hurry!

Great food, poor service!

It was really fun dining here and we'll definitely go again! I loved that we could go through and pick out exactly how much of what we wanted. The only thing that was a little difficult was at the sauce section. It would be much better if that was left up to the cook, you just tell him how you'd like it and he could add the sauce accordingly. As a result my food was a touch too hot, and my husbands was a touch not hot enough!

It was a little trial and error seeing as it was our first time there, but overall it was a great experience!

I guessed my food within 60 cents so that was neat! Almost a free meal!

The service was subpar, and she forgot to bring us our wraps (but being our first time there we didn't' realize) It was also a bit on the expensive side (especially drinks) but really was worth it (plus we had a coupon to get one meal free so for the discounted price it was a great deal!

This is a great place to go for lunch as they're very quick. I've only ever been for dim sum at one other place, so I'm not sure I'm the best critic, but I love it here!

Their fried stuff is quite greasy (spring rolls, green onion cakes, etc) but every thing else is quite good.

The value is great as well! Three of us often eat for about $45 including tip and that gets us a LOT of food! Always leaving stuffed and satisfied!

I definitely recommend it here, and will go again!

Mediocre Pub

This is a great little pub with an excellent view of the fraser and a great atmosphere. Had a live band last night that was pretty good, but sadly the service is quite slow (albeit friendly) and the food is just ok. The yam fries are quite good, and the prices are cheap, but that just doesn't make up for the fact that the quality just isn't there.

Great place to go and hang out to have a beer, but not a great dinner pub.

Hmmm, I'm absolutely shocked by all the poor reviews that this restaurant has gotten!

My husband and I went there on Friday night for dinner at about 6:30 pm-ish. It was packed busy and smelled incredible in there. We were greeted by a nice host who offered us a seat at the bar while we waited for a booth.

Server was quick in recommending and bringing us drinks. The bartender also came by a few times to make sure we were taken care of. We sat for about 15 minutes before getting our table. Our server was PHENOMENAL! It was a youngish guy, blonde hair. VERY knowledgeable and gave unbeatable service.

Our food came out remarkably fast considering the restaurant was packed, I had overheard that there was a Christmas party upstairs. I was very impressed with the quality of the food. The bread they bought out to start was great, we both had pasta and it was wonderful! HUGE portions. The food was a little on the pricier side, but when your order of pasta is enough to feed 2 people $16.00 isn't a bad price!

Some of the appies looked great as well. Next time we go we'll definitely try the flaming prawns as the were ordered numerous times while we were dining.

I'm not sure why this restaurant has gotten such bad reviews! We'll definitely go there again! The only complaint was that the booth benches had cracked/old fabric on them that should be updated, but other than that it was great.

I never used the bathroom but my husband and others have said that it's great!

I definitely recommend this place!

We dined here only because we felt like chinese and the place that we had intended on going wasn't open. Figured we'd take a chance, and boy I wish we hadn't!

The portions were pretty small, especially the veggies, and they don't have dinner sized plates for the food so you have to scoop all your food onto these tiny side plates.

The service was horrible! The girl working obviously didn't want to be there and she didn't try to hide it. When I asked what was in something I got shrugs and uhhhh... Followed by a guess. Then I asked how something else was cooked and she said 'I have no idea' and then walked away, never came back to tell me how it was cooked!

Finally when the meal was over, we sat there for quite a while waiting for our bill when I finally had to get up myself and pay. I stood at the counter where the girl was doodling, she looked up at me like she was wondering why I was there and I had to finally tell her I wanted to pay before she figured it out! I would have left $0 for a tip, but she was right there for a change staring at me and I felt bad and left a minimal tip. I also just realized we didn't get any fortune cookies!!

All in all, our experience here was terrible and I wouldn't recommend any one dine here!

We were really excited to dine here after reading the reviews, and hearing great things from others. Well, our meal left us with MUCH to be desired! Everything looked great from the start, we were greeted when we entered and the patio was hopping with ambiance and full of people. We were seated and brought bread, oil & vinegar. The bread was amazing! We then ordered. The service was descent and the server was friendly. However, she recommended the worlds worst pasta! I had the linguine with scallops and saffron cream sauce. It didn't have a whole lot of flavour and the scallops were tiny. My husband had the seafood pasta with a pesto wine sauce. That was horrible! We ate barely any of our food and the server took it away. The one thing that kept us from being really mad was the entertainment coupon that we had that atleast would get us one meal free. Well, apparently the server recommended my husband the one pasta that wasn't included on the coupon! So we ended up paying full price for two very lack lustre meals!

I would give this restaurant another chance, but only as a last resort, and if someone else was paying!
