Convenient Choice
Submitted Tuesday, December 16, 2008 - 6:23am [Dine in]

I live close by... so usually this is my first choice on Sunday, if i can get a seat.

The noodles teeter between 3 and 4. I miss Japan.

The servers are cute japanese girls that seem to find a way to smile working in this gong show of a noodle house.

The value is ok... but for $1 a bowl of hanpayaro...I'll take those all day.

Yeah... don't wanna be sitting there for more than 20min. The communal table is only ok if it was a bit more spacier. Sometimes i won't sit down even if there is a seat.

This is hands down my favourite pho house. Well worth the trip, even at the risk I can't get a seat.

Everything is what you expect from a hole in the wall pho house, but this place has the best flavour in their broth--- not over "seasoned" and perfectly balanced.

Pho is meant to be cheap. This place has saved my Sundays after rough Saturdays.

Not a place i like to hangout. But points for being cleaner than most places.

Mortified

I've been here many times... each experience getting worse.

Ho hum... Watch out for the kobe steaks!

The teppanyaki chefs are good. But the waitresses are below industry standard. Get the chef a computer and sake drum, so he can serve me!

Prices are steep for something ho-hum. My friend found out the hard way, just because the place is called kobe steak house, doesn't mean all the steaks are kobe! sneaky!

... Like a Hong Kong gangster movie. I'm surprised this place hasn't been shot up yet.

I'm a regular

Mmmm steak & lobster, and fried cheese on my platters. But overall standard for these restaurants.

BEST SERVICE. All of them are good, and they know how to recognize and treat a regular, even though i'm usually to drunk to remember anybody. *pss there's a waiter that looks like chris rock... kinda funny like him.

... Keep in mind you're paying for the experience. It's pricey... and the drinks cost double club prices... but the complimentary stuff evens things out.

Best patio/terrace in Vancouver. Very relaxing. Very Chic.

AMAZING seafood, beats cannery hands down.

Well, all these places have outstanding service i think it's the standard for these places. Just miss the personality.

oddly, the meal was expensive. But i walked out happy and full of great memories. It's one of those places you got to stick a fork into everybody's plate.

Love the view. I like the top of Vancouver too... but sometimes i just want to stare at the water and mountains.

Good for a cuban on the patio~

Yeap. You heard me. Makes me wish it was summer, because of good times sitting on their patio smoking a small cohiba and sippin' sangria specials. But that's where it ends.

The food is nothing worth talking about. Don't know whether it's bad or good. But nothing burnt or stale... so meh

We've had waitresses give attitude on top of ship service. I don't like the food, ok? let that be.

Too expensive for something i don't want to eat. Can't even enjoy their salad.

Great people watching.

For starters I love these hole in the wall places.

Delicious Tacos. Great Guacamole.

Unprofessional, but lotsa character. I love that. It's like being served by friends.

It's ok. I always thought of mexican food to be cheap food. Not over $10 type of food. It was fair and worth it.

Fun, low-key, unpretentious, lively, and different.

Fun spot to entertain a guest or date
Submitted Tuesday, December 16, 2008 - 4:54am [Dine in]

Hard to rate the food. I guess the food pairing is ok. I usually make my own. love that picadilli mustard. But I've been hit with FLAT WINE more than once with the tasting flutes. Stick with the glasses/bottles if you know what you are doing.

Always the friendly, patient staff. Very knowledgeable at that.

being a granville island regular, I can't in good conscience give them a good score.

great place to entertain people. even though it's in the back alley, it's clear somebody spent a lot of money to make it look the ghetto chic.

Open late, so it's hard to phase at that hour.
Good cheese plate. Good Mussels.
Great service, everyone has got personality there.
Fair pricing for standard fare.
Black & White Charlie Brown's Christmas on the big screen? EXTRA ambiance points! tho i couldn't keep my eyes off.

Basically like local independant cactus club.
