Megabite Pizza898 Granville Street, Vancouver
Playoff Time Pizza!
Submitted Tuesday, May 7, 2013 - 12:11pm [Delivery]

You guys, Megabite is so awesome. Their pizzas are the thickest, meatiest, most delicious and the prices don't make me sweat. They always have some good deals happening, and I've taken good advantage of their Hockey Meal Deal. It's only $30 for 2 XL pizzas and two 2L drinks! The biggest problem is often just choosing which 2 pizzas I want to order (though I've almost tried them all now!) And of course they deliver, which any good hockey fan glued to the couch come playoff time will appreciate.

So I can order a Mega Philly Steak and a Carnivore, sit back, and have it delivered to my door fresh and in a timely manner, which is exactly what happened on Sunday and I predict will happen again today. Megabite has never let me down. I can't really say the same for the Canucks lately... but at least the pizza will be good. It's fortunate I'm a secret Bruins fan on the side (shh).

A Big Fan

Great pizza! I like Megabite the best because its everything pizza should be; thick crust, plentiful cheese, fresh toppings, great deals. There are always so many pizzas to choose from and unlike most pizza places in the city they aren't all your typical boring choices. Sure Megabite has the best slice of pepperoni out there, but you could also try a slice of beef and blue cheese, spicy chicken, tropical veggie, I've even seen donair and hot dog pizzas in the warmer and they taste as good as they sound! You know what you're getting, which is good and big slices of pizza that are fresh, cheap, and filling. Walked in to this Davie location and got a slice of spicy mushroom and a slice of tropical chicken, I love their tropical base sauce. That garlic dip of theirs is the king of dips too, and I'm on the side of dips being very important. All in all a good experience, yet I've already come to expect that from Megabite which is a good thing too.

Pizza Garden Round 2
Submitted Wednesday, April 3, 2013 - 9:12pm [Dine in]

Decided to go with my girlfriend to Pizza Garden, the Commercial Drive location this time, since we both dig pizza and I'd been ranting about this place since I'd first tried it last week. We decided to eat in, the Drive just has such a cool vibe that you want to hang around. The staff was friendly and the aroma of the pizza being cooked in their big wood-fired oven is intoxicating.

We decided on a large Funghi, with the sautéed mushrooms (delicious), topped with truffle oil (how deluxe)! It was so so good. Nothing beats eating a Neapolitan style pizza fresh out of the oven, the fior de latte freshly melted, the hand stretched dough (really adds to the authenticity); my girlfriend loved it too. We finished the whole pizza in one quick sitting, no problem! It was certainly affordable too, which one can always appreciate. I could have gone for another, truth be told, if I wasn't so sufficiently full from the first pizza.

Good service, good food, good prices. We'll be back again soon, Pizza Garden!

MEGABite

Megabite Pizza (as well as this particular location) has to be THE staple for delicious and affordable Vancouver style pizza. Located right at the Commercial/Broadway Skytrain station, this place is always packed with transit riders and citizens of the Drive looking for something that will end their hunger. Seriously, rarely if ever can I be at Commercial Drive and not stop in for a slice or two.

First off, there's always an excellent selection of both meat and veggie pizzas available. There's also always fresh pizza coming out as soon as customers finish buying slices of another, so they'll pretty much always have something that appeals to everyone. The pizza's always fresh because people buy it before it gets a chance to cool off! If you ever read a review stating that the pizza in the warmer is old, don't believe it. I eat here quite often and I've never once experienced this.

Secondly, 2 slices of pizza and a pop for $5 is unbeatable when it's pizza of this quality. After the first time of trying Megabite (many years ago now) I immediately failed to see why I would want to give my money to any of these other cheap imitation pizza by the slice places. You get two big, fresh slices (spicy mushroom? meat lovers? tropical chicken? They've even had donair and most recently a hot dog pizza!) that will hands down beat any other slice on the Drive (here's looking at you, competitor across the street).

They also have great specials on take out, delivery, and online orders. Next time you're in the area grab a slice and a flyer so you can see the full menu of pizzas as well as rad deals.
