Wonderful Little Pho Place
Submitted Monday, August 23, 2010 - 5:32pm [Dine in]

I love Pho and it's hard to find good Pho places out of Richmond. This place is not as good as Pho Hoa, but it's right up there. It's clean inside, which is not always the case in Pho establishments. The service every time we've gone has been cheerful and prompt. The Pho itself is always delicious and fresh tasting. We will return time and time again. It has become a favorite Saturday lunch treat for our family.

Decent Pizza on a Budget
Submitted Monday, August 23, 2010 - 5:20pm [Dine in]

The pizza here is alright. No major complaints, but nothing to write home about either. The service is not the politest I have ever seen, but I'm beginning to realize this is a common theme by some (not all) "ethnically owned" pizza places. It's probably just a cultural misunderstanding. Anyways, the pizza is alright and their prices can't be beat. They seem to be consistently good. We only had delivery once and the delivery guy was a bit of a jerk and very slow at delivering, so now we order pick up.

"Tasty" is an understatement. Although, it's a crying shame they don't have a buffet anymore!!
Submitted Tuesday, May 11, 2010 - 5:19pm [Dine in]

I love the butter chicken here, it's the best I've ever had. They used to have a buffet, before they renovated, a few years back. While it was kind of cramped, the food from the buffet was great for the price. My family and I used to go at least once a week, but ever since they stopped the buffet we lost interest. We do get take-out butter chicken a few times a year, but if they ever brought back the buffet we would be regular weekly customers again for sure! (Please bring back your buffet Tasty Sweets!!!)

Pretty Good
Submitted Monday, May 10, 2010 - 1:43pm [Dine in]

First off, I get the feeling this Indian Buffet is not run by people of East Indian heritage: I never saw a single Indian person working there and secondly, the music they have playing is not exactly authentic. It's clean and inexpensive and the service is OK(but outstanding, compared to a lot of other Indian restaurants). The butter chicken (which is the benchmark for me of how I rate Indian restaurants) is mediocre: very mild, not nearly enough spice, but it has some interesting subtle flavours to it. The rest of the stuff is pretty good, but again, a little bland. I like that they offer free juice and chai. It's a good place to grab a casual bite for lunch.

This place is one of my faves. The food is incredibly delicious and reasonably priced. The service is always great. We always try to head out here for staff birthday lunches when we can. Try the lunch sampler, it's divine!! The ambiance of the restuarant is nice too, very malaysian folksy.. it's cute.

Great Pizza.... Mean Lady Who Works There
Submitted Monday, May 10, 2010 - 1:16pm [Dine in]

Jumbo Pizza claims to the "Best Pizza in Town." For the price range, they are right about that. I have never found a better inexpensive pizza. Although... they DO have a female pizza nazzi of sorts working there, though. She's a crabby lady who will rip you into pieces if you dare question why she is charging you a higher price than what is listed on their menu board or their current flyer. It's kind of annoying that they have this discrepancy and they should really change it because it comes across as such a scam. But other than that, the pizza is great. It's always busy in there and it's because the pizza consistently is excellent.

Good Chinese Food
Submitted Monday, May 10, 2010 - 12:59pm [Dine in]

We always come back to Rickshaw time and time again because the other Chinese places in Surrey just don't measure up. We are a bit far for delivery, so we go pick up (but it's worth it). The food is always good quality and yummy. The customer service can be a little snippish at times, but if you're ordering take-out all you care about is the food, right? I have never eaten in the restaurant so I don't know how the waiter service is. I would highly recommend this place if what you want is decent quality Chinese take-out. You won't be disappointed.

I get "Muh Fill" at Mehfill...

This place is OK if what you are looking for is a cheap Indian fix. Don't go here is what you expect is good customer service or high quality food. The butter chicken is alright, certainly not the best in the Surrey area, but it will do in a pinch. The waiter they have there now is awkward, at best. He will stand 6 feet away from your table, interrupt you mid-conversation and tell you to hand him your dirty plates (or ask you in an almost meek voice if you want something to drink). I find him very strange. Also, not the cleanest or best decorated place (dusty Christmas decorations up all year 'round).

I think they would make a lot more money if they improved customer service. I saw one family who said they had been going there for ten years get treated pretty badly by the owner. They told him they would never come back because of his bad service and he shrugged and said "that's fine." I was actually contemplating never coming back after hearing that how little he cares about his customers. I'm still thinking about it. But in the meantime, as I said, it's cheap butter chicken in a hurry.

Horrible, horrible chinese food.
Submitted Monday, May 10, 2010 - 12:49pm [Dine in]

We ordered from this place for Mother's Day and what a disaster it was!! This was one of the WORST Chinese food experiences I have EVER endured. Everything was bland, soggy, overcooked and very poor quality. We will never order from this place again. I do have to admit, the guy on the phone was pleasant and the delivery guy was nice (which is why I rated service as solid) but everything else was just too disgusting for words. Stay away from here, there are much better places to order from.

Appalling, Audacious Service
Submitted Tuesday, May 4, 2010 - 9:02am [Dine in]

My husband and I ordered from here last night. We are new to the Cedar Hills area and wanted to try all the pizza places to determine which are the best. This one does not even come CLOSE to being the best.

Firstly, we ordered 2 large pizzas - butter chicken and chicken taco - on a Monday night. According to their website they have a deal on Monday to Wednesday that if you order 2 large specialty pizzas (which is what we ordered) you get a box of free breadsticks. My husband reminded the person taking the order to include the free breadsticks and they claimed to not know what he was talking about. My husband told them that their website says they have this special and they still denied the special. After some awkward back and forths, they reluctantly agreed to honor their deal and give us the frickin' breadsticks (how incredibly generous of them... not).

They told us it would be 40 minutes, which struck us as strange considering it was a Monday night (not especially busy for the pizza business) and we live right next door - it seriously would be a 2 minute walk to pick it up. But my husband and I were both tired, so we agreed to let them deliver. They showed up 1 hour and a HALF later with a lukewarm pizza. My husband didn't bother to ask the driver why he was so late because by this point we were ravenous and just wanted to eat. We were paying with debit by the door and the driver held the debit machine and asked my husband all eagerly "how much are you going to tip me????" My husband responded "Uh, none. You were almost an hour late." The driver then proceeded to tell my husband in a very rude and guilt-tripping manner that this was quite unfair because every customer gives him a tip.

After we paid the audacious driver and shut the door in his demanding face, we opened the pizza box only to find that our butter chicken pizza was burnt. All the chicken pieces were charred. It tasted awful. No flavor, just chunks of burnt chicken and jalepeno... not sauce or cheese or anything. One of the worst pizzas I have ever eaten.

In all fairness, the breadsticks we fought so adamantly for were actually quite good and they became our dinner. Everything else was a disappointment. Won't EVER order from there again.
