My work is right by Yamato sushi and today at lunch, I decided to give it a try after reading all the great reviews about it but unfortunately it didn't go so good. I ordered a Bento box for take-out that included teriyaki chicken, salad, miso soup, gyoza, tempura and california rolls.
First off, sure there is a lot of variety but the quantity and quality are quite low. They gave me half of small bowl of miso soup which was peculiar because wasn't it full? Same with the salad just half a small bowl. The teriyaki chicken was bland and soaked in sauced and the gyoza didn't even look like gyozas because it was just a tiny fried little ball of dough. Plus there was only 4 pieces of california roll and the pieces were falling apart. I only ate it because I was hungry other wise it would've went in the trash.
The service was pretty bad as well I called for take-out and they told me to come in 15 minutes, I got there and still had to wait another 10 minutes for my food. I didn't mind waiting but while waiting, all I heard was the cooks and the servers bitching loudly in mandarin about how they hate working on a slow day since they didn't think I would understand them. Plus the restaurant didn't look too clean either.
The worst part of this is an hour after eating, I had intense stomach aches and I felt like I was either going to throw up and run for toilet while I was at work. I would recommend you to go to
Jako (just 2 doors down )instead, much better quantity and quality.
