The only thing remotely pleasing about this place was its decor. The restaurant was pretty empty but that didn't mean attentive service. The waiter tried to hurry us to order even though there was about an hour left before they closed. When we looked at the menu that should of been our first clue to get out of the place...exceedling expensive-their "special rolls" can be found at other sushi places for half the cost! EVERYTHING was overpriced...but we hoped the quality would make up for the ridiculous prices. The sushi and tempura was pretty sloppy and not very tasty but what really upset me and my boyfriend was the cheap portion of sashimi. It cost ten dollars and the fish was cut so thinly that it was almost transparent-it was laughable...and we did laugh but we were pretty pissed at the same time. For a meal that would of usually cost no more than 20 dollars anywhere else it was a big WASTE. Our total came to fifty dollars...
Oh and the somewhat nice decor was hard to appreciate with the staff yelling in chinese at eachother.
AVOID! There are so many better sushi places on lonsdale and downtown to settle for this one.

I never thought this place was really special, but I certainly have had a few nice meals at this restaurant. I will add that the service has always been great everytime I've visited this restaurant. In addition if you go on tuesdays...pasta is half-off, but the restaurant is extremely busy because of this and you may have to wait a while if you don't have a reservation.
I think this restaurant definitely has room for improvement...but I have some very enjoyable meals at this place.

My family and I tried the cakes from Anna's for the first time years ago and since we've had it for almost every birthday or special occasion...They are such a great alternative, acutally hardly comparable, to the usual heavy iced cakes you buy at the supermarket or at other bakeries. The cakes at Anna's are simple and that's what makes them lovely; they are comprised of a light whipped icing, fresh fruit topping, and a sponge cake with the option of adding a pudding filling to inside the cake! I recommend getting the mango filling!
They also have wonderful buns and other pastries...but their cakes are the best!

The first few times I went to this restaurant years ago the food was really great. I still recommend the baked smoked salmon pasta; however...it seems that over the past year or so they've hired young cooks (you can see the people making your food) and the quality really has suffered. It seriously looks like a bunch of frat boys are making your food. I don't think I will go back again...I also always found the prices a bit steep, you can go to numerous other italian restaurants in the area and receive better food and atmosphere!

As a place to go buy fish, the Crab Shack is an excellent find on the North Shore; however, if you go there for the fish and chips they are much too greasy! I recommend buying the salmon candy, although it's quite expensive. I would also agree with the other reviewer that their crab cakes are quite good.
