I made the mistake of going in a few weeks ago. I wont go into too many details other than to say: Service was rude, we felt as if we were being ignored, The wrong food was served, after advising them of this the correct food was brought out about 30 min later COLD AS ICE... Overall, not worth while.

Stopped into Carmichaels for a quick breakfast. Let the hostess know we were on a schedule & just wanted something quick & simple while being seated & instead of the usual "I'll let your server know..." line that you get when letting them know your in a rush, she offered to take our orders on the spot if we knew what we wanted, or could be back in two minutes if we needed to review the menu. I found this impressive. All we wanted was some coffee, eggs & toast; so we ordered on the spot & we have our food literally about 10 minutes later, which was very nice. The food was allright. Our order was so basic; Eggs are Eggs and Toast is Toast. The restaurant does have a bit of a bland look to it, nothing much in the way of atmosphere with a view of the hotels lobby, non the less an enjoyable setting to dine in. With the service shown & accomodation excercised to help us meet out time restrictions, I'd have to say this was a good spot for a quick early morning bite to eat.

This is probably one of my few Fine Dining or Upscale Casual Dining Experiences. The American Grille is a charming little spot, dimly lit, candles on tables and resonable prices for what they are offering . We went in last Saturday Night, using our entertainment coupon. We both had their Lamb Tenderloin, w/ Pomme Fritte [ I think thats how you spell it :) ]. The meat was cooked fantastically, it practically melted in my mouth, decent sized portion & a simple yet appitizing plate presentation. The service was fantastic; they were attentive, non intrusive, caring & timely with all aspects of our evening. We were full from our dinner and therefore did not get a chance to experience their desserts, but from the looks of their dessert menu, they do seem to have a few enticing dessert dishes available. Overall, charming establishment.

I have frequented this BP location over the past few years with my co-workers during the late night hours. It used to be good, but lately is has seriously gone down hill. The foods still the same, good ol stuff but the service has just become abismal. The last few times that I've been here, it's the same old routine:
#2Wait several minutes to be acknowledged, then seated.
#3 Wait another 10 minutes or so to be acknowledged at the table at which time our drink orders are taken.
#4 Drinks arrive about 15 minutes later.
#5 Another 15-20 minutes later (keep in mind that I'll now have usually been here 45 min) our food orders are taken.
#6 Drinks are finished, no one in site to ask us if we would like another.
#6 Appys arrive, 30 minutes later at which time another drink orders taken.
#7 Drinks arrive about 10 minutes later.
#8 We almost always have to wait another 45min to 1 hour for our main courses to arrive after we have already recieved our appys.
This place is not what is once was, I will never be going back as I've had enouph of them.

The food here is absolutely to DIE FOR! Everything from our appys, entre to dessert was AMAZING. The atmosphere is very trendy & the service is both prompt & professional. Most definitely an establishment worth checking out in Whistler.
