My wife and I just choose Trattoria as our dine out 2014 Vancouver for our monthly date night away from the kids. I feel bad for her because she was looking extremely forward to it however this was an epic fail.
We came to Trattoria around 8pm on a Saturday night, the place was busy, we had to wait 20 minutes or so for our table. Once seated we ordered some drinks and choose the dine out Vancouver menu. I ordered the soup to start and my wife choose the salad. The soup was excellent, the taste was fantastic however the salad was extremely small portion with little to no dressing on it. The salad had two nuts in it of some sort and nothing else but greens. She looked at me and said "I could make better at home". She didn't even finish it.
On to the mains, we both selected the chicken marsala, which was absolutely a BIG disappointment. The dinner came in a giant bowel with two chicken breast covered in marsala sauce which was PAN FRIED. The chicken taste awful it was rubbery and chewy like it came out of a PAN! To top it off the chicken was served with the same salad that comes and came as an appetizer earlier, just awful I was extremely disappointed. Even Milestones serves their chicken marsala with a piece of garlic toast and mashed potatoes, why salad again???
For dessert we had tiramisu which tasted like any other tiramisu would in Vancouver, average.
All in all a big disappointment for high aspirations, I would not recommend to anyone else, nor will I be returning. The place is very loud you have to shout to even hear each other lol, its dark and I don't understand why the portions are so small.
I hope this helps out my fellow Vancouverites.
