I first heard of Sanafir on the Food Network program "Opening Soon". My husband and I were anxious to try it out since we loved the design they had created and the concept of their tapas dishes we watched on the show. Well we finally made it there this past summer and it was great!
When we were walking Granville street that day we saw this little place handing out cards for a free belly dancer show around 5 pm that night, and what do you know it was Sanafir. So we returned and watched the free show which was great and made reservations for later that night.
When we got there it was very busy and they seated us at our reservations promptly. We sat at a long table in the front part of the restaurant. Although you are siting very close to other couples dining, it is very intimate. I loved the seating arrangement. My husband and I shared one of the platters, and it was absolutely fantastic. Not a thing I could complain about. Portion size was great. Lots to eat and choose from.
Bottom line: this place is great. Great to bring family/friends from out of town to experience something different, and great to come back to time and again.
Its also is well priced, so you don't have to spend a fortune on a nice night out.
I would DEFINITELY go back.

During the week, East India Grill has a $10.00 buffet with different meat selections as well as rice, naan bread, salads and a whole host of other foods. Although its not fancy, it is definitely delicious and worth every cent. Dinner in the evenings is delicious as well. Definitely the best naan bread I've tasted. I would recommend anyone who enjoys Indian food to definitely try this place. The decor is plain, but again... can't beat the food.
