Since this is a restaurant owned by the same people as Aji Toro, my boyfriend & I thought it would be about the same. Boy were we wrong! We went at about 4:45 in the afternoon and were seated immediately. There were several other tables but the restaurant was not too busy. Our server came but she only took my drink order, totally ignoring my boyfriend. We had to flag her down so my boyfriend could order his drink. We ordered our food at around 5:00; nothing unusual or elaborate, just the typical stuff like salmon and tuna sashimi, chopped scallop cone, and california roll. My boyfriend's order started arriving at about 5:15 and by the time 5:30 rolled around, all his stuff had arrived and he was pretty much done eating. All the while, my order (the sashimi & sushi combo) still hasn't shown up. At about 5:35, my food FINALLY arrived and I was not impressed to say the least. My boyfriend and I could see that the chefs kept putting up food on the bar but none of the servers picked them up as they walked by. Not only had the raw fish on my combo had gotten warm from sitting on the bar for so long, I also found a large bone in my sashimi! Plus, the entire time that we were there, not one of the servers had come up and asked how we were doing. With this type of service and food, we would definitely not be coming back to this place.

Came here for a wedding banquet & was sorely disappointed. My boyfriend and I arrived about half an hour before the appointed time (invite said 6 so we arrived at around 5:30). The staff were still running around, setting up the tables. My seat, my boyfriend's, and another seat next to mine were missing wine glasses and when I waved down a staff member, he mumbled something about how my table isn't his part of his section and therefore not his responsibility(although oddly enough, during dinner, he was the one that always brought the food to our table). It took a waiter 20 minutes after we've sat down to bring us a pot of tea and when my boyfriend asked for a coke, the waiter mumbled that other servers will come around soon with pop and walked off. These 'servers' that he spoke of never came around and 30 minutes and 2 requests later, all my boyfriend got was flat coke.
The food here was average at best. Very, very bland. Traditional chinese banquet dishes such as the abalone with chinese mushrooms or the shrimp claws were so bland, I wouldn't have even known that's what I was eating if I hadn't been able to see it with my own eyes!
The place was very beautifully decorated, I'll give the restaurant that much. But with the poor service and bland food, I wouldn't recommend coming back here. There are plenty of other chinese restaurants in Richmond that can do so much better for the same (or even cheaper) price.

This is probably one of the best tappas place that I've ever been to. The food is very well made and is at a good price. It's also very well portioned so that you can order up a lot of different variety and still be able to finish everything. It's also very authentic as all chefs and waiters/waitresses are Japanese and shout out the orders to the chefs in Japanese (in the traditional Japanese fashion). The only downside to this place is that it's very small and is always very busy, no matter what time of the day you go. But even if there is a 45 minute wait for a table, it is totally worth it.

I came here with a group of friends for a birthday celebration and was sorely disappointed. The food was 'ok' at best but the worst part of the night was the horrible service that we got. It took a long time for our food to arrive (at least 40 minutes) and our waitress was horrible and even had the audacity to demand to know who the drinks were for when my friend ordered a round of shots. What's even worse was when one of the drinks ended up going to someone else because the intended person no longer wanted it, the waitress came over, called my friend a liar to her face and then took the drink and walked off! I think that's the worst service I ever received anywhere. We ended up leaving and going to another place to have a REAL celebration instead.
