Was taken here by a co-worker and was very surprised that such a gem was around the corner from our office!
They have lots of great lunch specials, it's clean and the service is fast and polite--miles above typical sushi restaurant service.
I have been there twice and I have been impressed by their presentation and quality of food. I hope this place keeps up the good work.
I honestly could not stand Indian food before I was dragged here by a few co-workers. I had the lunch special that day--butter chicken, tons of naan and palak paneer and I was completely blown away. After that I was hooked and I probably went at least once a month for a long period of time. I only stopped going so frequently because I changed jobs and it's very out of the way for me now.
I would highly recommend this place...the naan is tangy and delicious! Service is what you would expect for a small hole in the wall type of place.
I am very picky when it comes to sushi. The place needs to be clean, the food fresh and it's nice when the cook is actually japanese. Well you get all of the above with this place. It also happens to be steps away from my door as well. It's somewhat annoying that they are not open on Mondays and Sunday but it seems like it's a very small, family-run place...so good for them for taking some time off!
I definitely think it's the best sushi for miles and you would never expect it in such a low profile area.
Highly recommended.
My brother and I were looking to grab a quick bite and saw this place on the way home. It stood out a bit from the typical asian fare all along Kingsway so we decided to try it.
I have to say that besides the ambience--kind of reminds me of a place found on main or commercial--it was pretty disappointing. I was thinking about ordering fries with my dish but the server assured me that sharing with my brother was probably a better option due to their large portions. Well, that was definitely not the case. The portions were extremely small--a lot less fries than your typical restaurant.
I order a salad and their seafood special. Honestly I could hardly believe it when they served it to me--it was a half of a hamburger bun in a ramekin with a oyster motoyaki type mix on top of it. Then it was smothered with cheese. It was a greasy mess. My salad was small but decent to go with. My brother did not particularly enjoy his burger either.
We were probably there for 20-30 minutes. It was one of those meals you wish you could take back so you could go eat something better!
