They could so easily do so much more...

We took some out-of-continent customers to this restaurant for a business meal.

I'm still scratching my head on my overall impression of Cloud 9. It was the first time I had ever been there and I don't think I would take guests there again except maybe for some coffee.

Initially you are hit with the stunning views coming through the windows. It all seems somewhat downhill after that though.

The service was slow and unattentive given the price of the food and drinks. Their fridge must have been broken because every beer and bottle of $50 wine we bought was room temperature! We sent beer back, only to be brought another room-temperature beer! One server admitted their fridge was having problems, but they had managed to get ice in everyone's water so why couldn't they chill some beer and wine?!

The food was tasty and nicely displayed. This was definitely a positive part of the evening.

The bathrooms are freakin' nasty. They reminded me of the bathrooms on board of a BC Ferry! Rusty, wet and dirty, sterile design, etc. For a high-end priced restaurant, I don't see why they couldn't invest in three matching sink faucets at least!

Pros: Food, view
cons: Prices, warm drinks!, nasty bathroom, unattentive service given the prices

Most outstanding first experience!

I had planned on taking some out-of-continent guests to the Rugby Beach Club Grille for some steak and drinks, but after reading some reviews of their service as of late I decided to look for another steak house. I came upon the reviews for Saltlik and figured it would be a good solution.

What an understatement! The service was outstanding from the moment we were ABOUT to enter the restaurant! The hostess held the double doors open for us and we were so unaccustomed to this that we thought she was leaving the restaurant!

The God Dip was excellent as a shared plate among 5 of us, the martini specials were creative and well crafted (and only $6 on Wednesday nights!).

DAMN. Do me a favour and order the bernaise sauce. It will freakin' blow your freakin' mind! My fiancee had the bernaise steak and upon commenting on its deliciousness to the waitress, she immediately brought me a cup full of it. Booyeah! The steak was done to perfection and was completely without any grisle or undesireable parts.

As one of these reviews mentioned how the chocolate lava cake was their favourite dessert EVER, we had to give it a shot. WOW. 'nuff said.

Thanks Mahkeeba!!! We will be back!
