We took some out-of-continent customers to this restaurant for a business meal.
I'm still scratching my head on my overall impression of Cloud 9. It was the first time I had ever been there and I don't think I would take guests there again except maybe for some coffee.
Initially you are hit with the stunning views coming through the windows. It all seems somewhat downhill after that though.
The service was slow and unattentive given the price of the food and drinks. Their fridge must have been broken because every beer and bottle of $50 wine we bought was room temperature! We sent beer back, only to be brought another room-temperature beer! One server admitted their fridge was having problems, but they had managed to get ice in everyone's water so why couldn't they chill some beer and wine?!
The food was tasty and nicely displayed. This was definitely a positive part of the evening.
The bathrooms are freakin' nasty. They reminded me of the bathrooms on board of a BC Ferry! Rusty, wet and dirty, sterile design, etc. For a high-end priced restaurant, I don't see why they couldn't invest in three matching sink faucets at least!
Pros: Food, view
cons: Prices, warm drinks!, nasty bathroom, unattentive service given the prices
