This pub is just ok if you want a brew or to watch a game, but very poor food. Burger I ordered came burnt, and you can tell they're buying the cheapest frozen burger patty they can find. Servers have that bored and can't be bothered look. A little effort guys....
Given the proximity to GM Place, I realize these guys will always be busy, but to the owners, do you really have to gouge people? $18 for a pound of chicken wings is absurd beyond belief. Check most bars/restaurants in town, and you'll see that a pound of wings hover around the $12 level, not $6 more! Was there with a friend from Manhattan who couldn't believe the prices in this city, and this took the cake. Yes, there's a great vibe in here when it's busy, but would love to hear from someone who works there that can justify that kind of price......karma is around the corner.....
Was here with a few friends last week.....what a disaster. Very poor "Kobe" short ribs, server not knowing the food, wrong dish sent out, wrong bill presented, and just a weird vibe in the restaurant. Directionless, mismanaged, and overpriced. Was lured in because it looked ike a classy place at first, with a nice room, but they need to re-vamp this whole concept and get their servers trained properly.
Had the pleasure of visiting here for the first time, and was impressed with the excellent quality of food (in particular the veal) the attentive service, and friendliness of staff and managers. Had the trio of bocconcini which was served three different ways, then the veal in tomato marsala sauce, and finally the spumoni ice cream. All excellent. Will be back again.
Easily my favorite greek restaurant in North Van, or anywhere else for that matter. Consistently excellent cooking, great ambiance, and top notch service make my visits always enjoyable. Highly recommend the lamb and dolmathes for the rich flavours. Tzatziki is superb, as it does not overwhelm the other flavours of a particular dish. Best avgolemono soup in the city. Simply outstanding all around.
Quite apparent that food is a mere afterthought here. Not a bad place to have a brew and watch a game, but don't expect much else. Patchos (potato nachos) sounded like they might be good. They were not. Chicken strips came burnt. Service was practically non-existent so if you go, sit at the bar, and have a drink....but that's it.
I didn't go here expecting the best Italian food in the city, but the Glowbal group definitely knows how to create a vibe in a restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the food however, especially considering some of the negative reviews. Top dishes that I tried included the spaghetti with Kobe beef meatballs and the beef carpaccio. Top notch service, and a great looking room, will make me come back.
Really like coming here for the top notch food, and the cool lounge located next door. Usually go for appies like the wonton stack and the cranberry baked brie in phyllo, but had the walnut crusted salmon this time, and it was delicious as well. A consistently good, solid restaurant.
One of my favorite rooms in the city. Feels like a little bit of New York in Vancouver. Great ambiance, cool tunes and the food is much better than you'd think it would be. Had the maple soy wild salmon, which had a nice kick to it, although didn't think the sushi rice worked well with it. Tried the NY Cheesecake which was too bland for my liking, but decent enough. Service was first rate throughout the evening.
I visited this outstanding little gem of a restaurant recently, and had an amazing time here. From the starters of the butternut squash fondue and the prawns in a zesty tequila broth to one of the most tender New York steaks I've ever had, everything was spot on. We finished with the chocolate ganache cake with jagermeister gelato that others have raved about, and it was indeed delicious. Didn't have that sickly sweet taste that some ganache's have. Service was very friendly and efficient and although the room is a bit sparse, it actually is a perfect setting for a romantic dinner. Will definitely be back.
First time at La Terrazza and it was a memorable one. Went during dine out, so it was quite busy, and given this fact, was quite impressed with the service level in this beautiful room. Poor service is becoming way too common in this city, so it's always refreshing to find a place that is on top of the ball. Waiter was professional, good natured, and after a minor mistake happened (forgot to bring a beverage over that I'd ordered), brought it anyway without charge. Had the veal which was well cooked and flavourful, and a fantastic creme brulee. Nothing over the top, but delicious.
