Trattoria Di Umberto Restaurant4417 Sundial Pl., Whistler
Not Sure What to Think...Be Careful!
Submitted Saturday, March 2, 2013 - 10:47am [Dine in]

We have been coming to Whistler for many years and have eaten at Trattoria quite a few times. Last night we (a party of 6) ate at the restaurant. We were told that there would be two waiters helping us tonight. The male waiter was there to take our wine order. I told him the two wines we were considering in the $40+ price range. He immediately recommended a very nice bottle that was $86. I said that was more than we wanted to pay and that the $45 bottle was our choice. Our waiter immediately brought the $86 bottle of wine and was ready to open it. I happened to examine the bottle and noticed it wasn't the bottle we ordered. The wine we selected was soon brought to us; however, that was the last we saw of that waiter.
Our next waiter was excellent and provided very good service. However, the food was not up to the usual standard. The potato portion of the meal was very marginal. I hope that the mistake with the wine was not intentional and the kitchen was a little off because it was a busy Friday night. I am unsure if I will be back.
