Keg Steakhouse & Bar, The1499 Anderson St., Vancouver
Keg Is Class
Submitted Saturday, September 8, 2012 - 8:06am [Dine in]

Unbelievable steakhouse -- the food was unbelievable. First I started with home-made Caesar Salad with tomato extras. The portion was rather large and it could be shared by 2 people. For the main course, I had the flat-Keg strip loin and I shared this with my friend she shared ribeye -- they were able to cut both steaks so we could share. I've never tasted steak like this before! Super rich in taste. They offered different sauces as compliments. The fries and string beans were great as well. The ambience is great for couples, group of friends, and it is very modern. And great view. One last thing -- the service was spectacular -- very helpful and informative and super nice!

Hmmm What Was That

The pizza menu was pretty much the same as every other BP I think. So the pizza was crispy, a little overdone but good OK. We had beer and the taste was strong and the glasses sparkly clean but wouldn't go for seconds to be frank there were kids running around and then in their booth making noise and the parents were not making any attempt to subduing them. The waitress wasn't much to look at, they do have alcohol and big screen TVs tuned to the right channels (sports) but then the waitress is careless about her appearance and kids are taking control of the place. I don't get it and I suppose won't come back.

Not Coming Back

Very disappointed. I live here so I have to say I am disappointed they treat us like we are lesser than downtown (or even Burnaby). So we happily go to Earls expecting the same treatment, food, drinks and atmosphere and entertainment as downtown (and even Earls in other suburbs). Wrong while the food was still good (varied, eclectic, a little small portion but always delicious), liquor (good wine by the glass, bottled drinks reasonably priced) and a very attractive room the servers at this location were wearing mom and pop pants. Like it is Langley so we can get away with less entertainment and attractiveness and people will still come. Wrong. I am disappointed that the staff here think we in Langley are prudes or something. Look I am willing to pay the admittedly higher prices and order pokes, curry, fish and alcohol in a great ambiance but why would I pay higher prices and tip well when the attraction factor isn't at this location?
For me I will still visit Earls but near my office downtown for lunch not here for dinner.
