(2.6) (3) (2) (3) (2.5)My son and I decided to try another curry restaurant in North Vancouver and Mumbai Masala was recommended to us.
Both of us consider ourselves "butter king" experts and although the dish lacked salt, we were satisfied with the meal.
We visited the restaurant on a (very) quiet Monday night and although we enjoyed the restaurant to ourselves, our server was not attentative to our need for salt and extra water.
The price of the meal for two (without liquor) came to $35 with the gratuity. Good value for a pleasant evening and we will be back.
Our favourite curry restaurant stopped serving buffets, so I recalled driving on 120th Street, Surrey and seeing the numerous curry restaurants.
The buffet signage of Mehfil Restaurant & Sweets caught our eye and the easy access to parking soon saw us seated in the restaurant. We were met at the door by a friendly waitress who encouraged us to go ahead and enjoy the buffet.
I headed straight for my favourite curry dish, the butter chicken. The expected creamy flavour was there and I was not disappointed. My second helping was a mixture of chicken curry, zucchini, mixed vegetables and daal. All very tasty.
The meal for two with a chai tea came to $20. Excellent value. Bear in mind, this is not fine dining. I will return again for my weekly curry "fix".
