great fresh sushi

This is my favourite sushi restaurant in North burnaby. Their fish is fresh and they offer both farmed and wild salmon. they're pretty quick and the place is clean and generally not too busy. it's a hidden gem if you ask me since i live and work in the area but haven't noticed them until recently. they're also open sundays which is pretty much rare in that part of town aside from pizza places

We went last week. I still find the food to be too salty most of the time but otherwise it's pretty good. I found the place to be trendy and fun but not really a place to socialize as the tables are sooo close together and it's too echoy and loud in there. We usually get a table quickly. We like the degrees of hotness they offer.

Worst dining experience at Granville Island

A group of us went here after Theatresports and it was not busy at all. We were seated and got drinks. We ordered quickly and the server repeated our orders to us, asked us preferences etc. When the food came, they totally messed up on our orders and gave us things we didn't order and missed what we did. Then they took another twenty minutes or so to bring the right foods. Foods were either really dry or bland. Since a different person gave us our food, we didnt see the server again. No one came to check on us, not even once. We tried to flag down our server but she would glance at us and keep talking to her coworker.

My birthday dinner

My boyfriend and I went here last weekend. The prawns and shrimp were excellent. The chicken and steak was alright, nothing really spectacular. There's local art on the walls which were beautiful. Overall, I may go back but I'd try other teppanyaki places first as this was my first time going to one.

Everyday I passed this place on my way to work but finally tried it yesterday. It was very good. I loved the broth of the beef noodle soup. The pork salad roll was alright, I've had better. The small noodle soup was decent portioned while my boyfriend liked the large. The service was friendly, the food came quickly. Definitely will return for lunch again. :)

Yummy Sashimi
Submitted Sunday, November 22, 2009 - 1:07am [Dine in]

I love their spicy salmon sashimi. I think it's the best in all of Burnaby. It has a hing of sesame oil and it's sweet and they add cucumber. We usually go weekends so it's busy so service isn't the best, it's ok. But the food definitely makes up for it! It's one of my favourite restaurants in the city for sure.

Refreshing take on Sushi

Great place. Great fusion of different foods. Very flavorful. Service was a bit slow. The place isn't very big and gets busy so we waited for 20 minutes and got an awkward little table in the middle of the place. But food was excellent. That was about a year ago, I havne't been back this year yet so not sure if service has improved. One of my favourite Japanese places :)

Great Food!

So this was my first time trying Korean bbq, but it exceeded my expectations! The food was delicious. I've never grilled or barbecued so I thought I'd mess up the meats (such a girl of me!). But even I could cook the meats! The meats were soo tender! I loved the marinates. The spicy pork isn't spicy at all though. I loved the little side dishes even though I don't like kimchi. We got there at 7:10 pm or so on a Friday night, we got seated within 15-20 minutes. The service was sorta slow but we didn't need much attention since they give you all your foods and you do what you like with it. Excellent food. Atmosphere is ok, since it's smoky and very busy.

We found this place from this website, read the reviews and thought we'd try it out since we support small local businesses. We were totally delighted. The place was a hidden gem in a residential neighborhood. We got the special of the day, Farmer's Scramble for $8. It was absolutely delicious! I love that they used farmer's sausage and not the disgusting little breakfast sausages in the eggs. The jam was really good and I'm not a big jam fan. We thought it was homemade but the lady said it's not but it's Canadian from Saskatoon (I think?). The organic orange juice was very good! It was pulpy and fresh, reminded me of freshly squeezed Florida orange juice. Overall, great cozy little place. They make their own pumpkin pie and soups too! Recommend this place to all!

Great food, always good but it takes a long time for food to arrive even if you get appies. the place is decorated alright, nothing really special. there are a lot of plants above with big skylight windows. the atmosphere is friendly, laid back, welcoming. i haven't had bad service or bad food there before. their portions are pretty big even during lunch time when it's cheaper. my friend swears by their roast lamb while i like the chicken souvlaki. the place has short hours though i recall going at 9 or so and they close at 9:30 or 10pm. even on weekends but that was a while ago not sure if they changed any of that. its a family restaurant, very friendly, cosy restaurant.
