CLean place for pho
Submitted Monday, October 19, 2009 - 10:21pm [Dine in]

like everybody else tried to visit nooch a few time with out success cuz its always close. Finally it was open for us to try.

first impression, yes its clean..cleaner than most pho places.
classical music blasting in the background, the food network showing on the tv.

we were the only customers at this point. menu was limited, so easy enough to try variety of dishes. we started with the spring rolls....they are ok but the oil it was deep fried in was very old. which makes the spring rolls greasy and left an unappetizing taste to our taste buds.

i had the viet sandwich next.... small and so so. had better and bigger sandwich from other restaurant.

pho beef noodle is next. WAY too much star anise. just over powers the soup and also too much diakon radish taste. yes it is "UNIQUE"

we weren't too impressed with our meal. we probably wont come back to this place.

been here a few times now after reading the reviews on here. decent food for the price. lots of items to choose from. Usually comes with a cold drink of sort.
if there is nothing in the fridge and hungry for a quick meal i recommend going here. dinner for 2 people usually is around less than $20 with tip.

good steak
Submitted Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 10:36pm [Dine in]

A pricey place to go have dinner but the food is good.
the bill came to almost $500 for the 4 of us with couple bottle of wines.
the steaks were well cooked, juicy and tasty.
the sides were good too, creamed spinach, asparagus, baked potato and mashed potato.
can't wait to go again... maybe a birthday or something!

Can't cook steak
Submitted Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 10:21pm [Dine in]

what kind of a steakhouse screws up the temperature of a steak? shouldn't they be good at it since its a steakhouse? asked for a medium rare steak and got a medium steak instead. For the $$$ they are charging i expect to have it cooked well($49 for the porterhouse). i would rather go to mortons and get a porterhouse for $57 and cooked the way i wanted.
had the table side caesar salad with the crouton bowl as well. the bowl was stale. the caesar dressing could be better.
my wife and I wasn't impressed with this steakhouse. 1 appy, 2 main course for almost $100 without wine a lil bit pricey!
wont be back!

Nice place to have dinner. nice decor, cool rooms good food and drinks.
i recommend the the rib eye steak. was cooked just the way i wanted it. nice and tender.
service was very attentive. always checking up on us and how everything was going. quick refills on our drinks without even asking.
would rather go here than some other so called "steakhouse" in RIchmond.

Steak house? Sure they serve sterling silver beef but that doesn't make it a steakhouse. food wasn't good at all. My wife had the Ox tongue, large portion but the tongue wasn't cleaned properly. the outside membrane ( you can see the cow's taste buds)of the tongue was still there. I dont think anybody would still be hungry after seeing that and i'm of asian descent. haha i can't remember what i had. its that memorable.

Japanese? or Chinese Ramen?
Submitted Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 12:31pm [Dine in]

I agree with the review before me. It doesn't taste like real ramen. more like chinese instant noodle. The broth itself i cant taste what it is made of... pork? chicken? not quite sure since the over whelming amount of fried garlic taste. that's all you taste. and on the table there's a container with more fried garlic in case its not enough. i feel that there are more chinese food there than Japanese.

One good thing bout what we ordered was the agedashi tofu. one of the better ones out there.
but for noodles, i'll have to pass.

Better than other AYCE sushi places
Submitted Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 12:22pm [Dine in]

Been here a few times before. not a big AYCE kinda person since there are soo many sub par AYCE sushi places out there. Food is not bad for AYCE. then again how good can AYCE can be? what my wife and I like about this place is that its consistent with the food. and whether we go to the Broadway location or Richmond food is the same.

NIce new Restaurant in Steveston
Submitted Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 12:14pm [Dine in]

Was here a few weeks ago with friends, hoping for a nice lunch.....
The place itself is nicely renovated from what it was before and it stands out from the other restaurants on the wharf.
so hopes for a nice lunch was high... ordered our food, took maybe 30 mins for couple of sandwiches to be prepared in a less then half full restaurant. hmmmm
once we go our food, we all looked at each other and laughed cuz for we were expecting a lil bit bigger portions than what we received. The slider wasn't good either. patty from my point of view was deep fried.

so we left still hungry and unsatisfied.
NIce new Restaurant in Steveston that's about it.

Wont ever go back here again. Even if you pay me! Food is horrible. not even close to home cooking. ordered 4 items on the menu, all not good except the rice. then again how can you go wrong with rice.

Service was slow and not too friendly. Is it that hard to smile a little bit? or do i have to pay for a smile? McDonalds gives smile for free.
