I've noticed that most of the reviews here are pretty old, so here's my two cents as I was just here the other night.

While not a fancy place at all, the ambiance is pretty awesome. It's kind of a weird pub, a bit worn down but it gives it character, and the people make this spot a favorite of mine and my friends. It's a great spot to meet people, you can go to this place and just start up a conversation with anyone in there, it's a pretty social place.

The prices are decent too. I don't think you can get a glass of wine anywhere else on the beach for less than $6. And even though it came in an oddly small looking glass, they sure filled it up! Also, if you want to buy a bottle of wine in house it is by far the cheapest I've ever seen. They have a little beer and wine store in the pub, so you can choose any wine you want and they add a $6 corking fee, which is pretty good considering you can drink a bottle of Hardy's for $22, or J.Lohr for only $32. This is unheard of, I've never been able to order a bottle of wine to my table that cheap anywhere. Ever.

I've been going to the Piper for years, and I can say for sure that the food has improved a lot. It was pretty inconsistent for a while but recently it's been amazing every single time. The portions are huge and the prices have stayed pretty much the same. You will not find bigger pieces of fish anywhere else along the beach as you do here. And they have all you can eat fish and chips for like ten bucks.

Oh, and the bathrooms got renovated, finally:) Too bad there's not more stalls though because it's always packed here on the weekends and there's always like 10 girls in there at a time.
