Been ordering pizza from this joint a few times now, never been to Chicago so can't comment on what a true deep dish pizza should be, but I know that this place do pack on quiet a bit of toppings and cheese, whereas most places have more dough to toppings per bite ratio, this place is the opposite and for only a dollar or two more than Panago or Dominos, it's a no brainer. So let the Americans have their deep dish and their obesity issues, I like Hot Oven just the way they are.
I've stared at this place from inside Buster's many times, and today my curiosity got the best of me. I walked in around lunchtime, it was pretty quiet, save for the loud yelling coming from the back room. I had to knock on the kitchen door to get the owners attention. I ordered the Veg Lo Mien and mabo tofu, and in 5 minutes it was on the table! the Lo Mein was soggy and bland, however, the mabo tofu was pretty decent. Interior is dumpy but great in value, you get what you pay for.
I like when steam starts coming out of my boss' ears and his face turns all red. This usually occurs when he eats really spicy food. Maybe I am sadist when I laugh at people in pain. What if I am, sue me. That being said the food was good too. The house fried rice was pure genius
Found this place by accident, been going there quite often since. We had a very satisfying and enjoyable afternoon. The food was excellent, tasty, and fufilling. This restaurant is consistently good every time we go. The service was quick, attentive and professional. Definite value for the money paid. Under $40 for 4 people.
