Aroma Indian Restaurant3260 Coast Meridian Rd, Port Coquitlam
One Of My Favorites
Submitted Thursday, January 11, 2007 - 4:31pm [Dine in]

I've been coming to this restaurant with my Dad for years. I'm vegetarian so I tend to go with the Shahee Paneer (with rice and naan). This is a family based restaurant and I find the restaurant very homie. The washrooms are a little gross, so if you can't stand that, do take out. I love the service and the food! I have noticed over the years that the prices stayed the same but the portions are smaller.
Overall, this has to be one of my favorite Indian Restaurants besides the Bombay.

Good Service, Good Food

We normally get them to cater for events at the store I work at and I always order delivery when I am at work, regardless of the delivery fee they add to the bill. This is the first Greek restaurant I have ever been to, so I can't compare it to other Greek restaurants out there.

However, I know this is owned by an independent family and they are so nice and gracious. I love the food, hence why I order delivery or go by when I am in in the area. I love their Spinach pies and Dolmades. So good!
I would recommend this place if you want to pick up food, not really a place to dine in on a date or anything. But the service is great!

Watch Out For The Servers
Submitted Tuesday, January 9, 2007 - 3:29pm [Dine in]

I go to Douglas College (just up the street) so I go to this sushi restaurant quite often. I also go in the evenings with friends/dates as well.
I think the food is outstanding. I'm a vegetarian so I tend to pick Maki and other vegetarian rolls off the menu. I find that it's fresh and delicious. That's why I always go back.

However, there are two servers that sticks out in my mind. They tend to look so miserable and they are very rude. Only once did one of the serves actually smile, and I was shocked because her reputation to me is "misery". There is only one server I actually prefer and I always ask her to serve me, seeing as the other ones make the experience an awful one.

The mean server, rolled her eyes and sighed when I asked for booth because I was with two friends. What the hell was that? The staff there are not at all gracious or kind. And she's not like that with only me, I see her like that with all the other patrons.

Overall, its a good restaurant, but I rather do take out instead of dine in because of the rude service.

I go quite often because of the food is great, however, not the service. I find that manager is funny but not at all gracious. I went there with my Dad and I swear we waited for 45 minutes till we got our meals. Do they only have one cook/server or something because they are so slow! And when you ask a question about something on the menu, they seem like they don't want to help you.

The portions are okay. The Mexican restaurant I go to downtown has much bigger portions. And I find some (not all) items on the menu are pricey. Sure I don't mind it being pricey, as long as I get a decent portion but c'mon, sometimes I leave that place not completely full.

The food is delicious but I hate the rude waiters and slow service. Yes, I will still go there but that's because I don't feel like going all the way to Vancouver and it's the closest Mexican restaurant in my area.

Well I tend to go mostly on Saturdays at lunchtime and I find the service is really good and fast. The staff are pleasant and check up on you frequently.

*Only once I had a tiff with the place because I showed up right when they were suppose to be open and some server with braces told me to come back in 20 minutes (because they were not ready, however, I looked inside and they were all sitting around and eating.) THAT really pissed me off. So I was already hungry, had my heart set on mexican with my friend, show up when they are suppose to be open and we had to wait.. That is ridiculous!

However, the food portions are great. I tend to order medium or large with their meals and never leave hungry.. I'm full for hours. And this has to be my favorite Mexican restaurant.

Regardless of that one bad experience I will still keep going there. Just watch out for the waiter with braces, he's a knob.
