Whenever I have the craving for Pho I don't go anywhere else but Pho Thai Hoa. Their Seafood noodle in soup is excellent. Foods always super hot and fresh and the waitresses are very nice. I think they might have changed ownership but the food is still consitantly good.
My boyfriend and I love going to Gigi's especially late night. The food is always good and the servers are always friendly. Love the garlic bread and the baked lasagne is excellent. The shrimp salad and the spanakopita is great too. Thumbs up!
My boyfriend and I used to go to Felico's quite a bit then kind of forgot about it because who thinks of Greek food while in Richmond. Anyways we had a craving for Greek and ended up at Felicos. Had to say I was impressed. They have renovated and the decor is beautiful. Our server was very nice. We ordered the Felicos platter and it was delicious. We were soo full but managed to eat everything and was completely satisfied. I'll remember Felicos next time we crave Greek for sure!
Ohukuya has a great menu for a non-japanese owned and operated buisness. I was surpised with how tasty their izakaya-like dishes were! One thing that TOTALLY turned me off was some restraunt patrons were SMOKING. Not only that, they were playing drinking games... totally ruined the experience.
When I used to live downtown, one of my favorite sushi joints was Tsunami Sushi. Tsunami has been Japanese owned and operated for more than 10 years. One of the few authentic Japanese eateries left. My favorites are the salmon toro maki, spicy tuna with avacado maki, chicken karaage, and chicken katsu. My mom used to go there at least 2 times a week for lunch back in the day when she worked in one of the office buildings downtown. I prefer Tsunami becuase of their quality over quantity. Too many non-Japanese owned restraunts are quantity over quality. Their fish is always super fresh! yummm
