Favorito Pasta Trattoria552 West Broadway St., Vancouver
Great food but no allure
Submitted Friday, May 18, 2007 - 3:40pm [Dine in]

This is a really delicious, although carefully hidden away, Italian restaurant. The plates are heaped with flavourful pasta and the salads are really exceptional as well. The martinis are good, and the service is consistently excellend. However, the atmosphere is very lacking. The restaurant is a bit dull and outdated, and could really use a new paint job and some new decor. However, it's all totally worth it for really good affordable pasta.

Crab Mashed Potatoes
Submitted Friday, May 18, 2007 - 3:35pm [Dine in]

I had the crab mashed potatoes here a couple of years ago...they were really amazing. I will honestly never forget. They also serve very good fish and steak, although I found that some of the appetizers left something to be desired.

The atmosphere seems a little bit outdated, but its very pleasant to sit in one of those cut off booths and have a quiet dinner with family or friends.

The martinis are deliciously real. You can taste just enough of the alcohol.

Tasty Dessert
Submitted Friday, May 18, 2007 - 3:33pm [Dine in]

The small plates were very good, but for me the main feature of the meal was the dessert. We had an amazing chocolate cake/mousse/something or other that was just incredible. I was flying high on the sugar and the cocoa for the next two hours, in the best kind of way.

The atmosphere of the place was very nice and very romantic, and I would recommend it for a special date with a loved one.

Great Food, Nice Location

Crave is a great restaurant. Really delicious food and drinks. I love their burgers and cobb salad. The Tokyo Rose martini and the mojito were both awesome. I highly recommend the place, although it can get a bit busy and doesn't take reservations.

There are many enjoyable restaurants on Main Street right now, but this definitely stands out from the crowd. Service is great. Dessert (the carrot cake in particular) was fantastic.

Delicious Organic
Submitted Thursday, May 17, 2007 - 5:26pm [Dine in]

After finally resigning myself to the belief that vegetarian restaurants could not surpass the bland flavours of The Naam, I discovered Dharma Kitchen. The food was surprisingly delicious, almost leaving my whole family practically in a glow after consumption. The ambience was not my style - a bit too new age for me. However, I can appreciate tasty, well-prepared food. A salad that is truly scrumptious is something to be wondered at. The tofu was perfect. The curry had just the right amount of spice, and the miso gravy was delectable. Reasonably priced and highly recommended.
