I have eaten here a few times over the years and it just seems to get worse and worse. I will not be going back again. The only redeeming quality is the nice view, which is in stark contrast to what is going on inside the restaurant.
Service- Our waiter looked like a teenager and was ok for the most part, but dissapeared at one point for 30 minutes. He overcharged us on the bill by a large margin and did not give us a copy, we did not even sign for it yet were charged this amount. He left the restaurant for the night before we could dispute it with him. We contacted the restaurant several times afterwards to sort it out and everyone from the hostess, manager, owner, even the "accountant" promised to sort it out then simply hid from us. Extremely unproffesional. They seeme to have the routine down pat.
Food- Usually at least one person at our table will not be able to find something that they like. The menu usually consists of mainly 'exotic' items such as quail egg and veal. The portions are very small and the food is very expensive for the quality.
Ambiance- The view is great, however there are several other restaurants in WV and Vancouver with comparable views. The restaurant is usually quite empty and the clientele are mixed, from seniors to familys with young children. The bar is almost always empty.
Value- As many on this site have pointed out, you are paying for the view. Do not expect to leave full or to feel like you got your money's worth with regards to the menu or atmosphere.
Overall, I would not consider the Beach House a worthwhile dining experience. When compared to other expensive restaurants in town the Beach House falls substantially short. Save your money, go elsewhere with a view, or take a walk on the seawall after dinner.
