The best experience!

We walked in and were greated by the owner himself which was a delight.

We started off with their antipasto and their salmon carpaccio. I was really impressed with the freshness of both of them and the quality of their curing of the salmon was to die for!

For our mains, we went with the sea bass and lamb chops, which both were absolutely on par with their appetizers!

The sea bass was broiled to perfection and accompanied with a light tomato sauce with basil and extra virgin olive oil. Very italian which was what we were looking for.

The lamb chops were crusted with dijon, pistachios and rosemary with a mint vermouth sauce which was a fantastic combination that remined me of what Mama used to cook me!

We were too full for desert but caught a glimspe of what they looked like from a table beside us and were very impressed with the presentation along everything we tried.

If you are looking for a great place to dine with great service, food and atmosphere, visit Don's! The price may be a little high for the average joe, but you get what you pay for!

Kudos to the chef and owner!

Bellaggio Cafe773 Hornby Street, Vancouver
Is this Italian?

Coming from the outskirts of Vancouver for a business meeting, I decide to take my meeting to Bellaggio Cafe for some brunch.

Walking in, the ambiance is less than apealing to me as it looked more like a used bookstore with the "wanna-be Italian" owners with a cheap taste of decor.
Anyhow, looks can be decieving, so I ordered an Eggs Benny (Right at breakfast cut-off *Thank god!*) and my friends, Kebabs, a burger and a pepperoni and mushroom pizza.

Eggs Benny sauce was great, but my eggs were not runny at all! The waitress said the chef's response was "that it was poached soft", so I wasnt about to complain much more.
My friends reaction to the rest of the food were less than satisfying.
I do not know what the chef is thinking when putting on Kebabs on a italian menu. The worst combination and seasonings they ever tried. Whats worse is that they used the same combination on the burger! Stop trying to be fancy like Lumieres! The pizza was even ever so horrible. I tried a slice of it and it reminded me of McCains or made from one of those one-off cheap greasy pizza places.

I guess the amount of food you get sort of makes up for everything for other people, but not me. Sorry. I wouldn't recommend this place to my dogs.
