Au Petit Chavignol845 East Hastings St, Vancouver
Strathcona Style
Submitted Monday, January 4, 2010 - 2:46pm [Dine in]

My partner and I had long fantasized about a cheese restaurant opening in Vancouver, having been to a fabulous one in New York a couple of years ago.

Were we ever thrilled when one opened just blocks from our Strathcona home!

If you appreciate cheese, wine by the glass, and a delicious array of goodies and tantalizing tidbits - you must give Au Petit Chavignol a try! The ambiance is sleek and sophisticated, and a visit to the shop next door will yield an amazing selection of culinary wonders to make your next get together or romantic night-in a sensual success.

Prices are Out of Order
Submitted Friday, January 1, 2010 - 6:48pm [Dine in]

The servers are friendly, the food is organic, but I really think its overpriced.

Some of the dishes are fabulous, for example the cheddar and apple sandwich is a great value for lunch, but I have to be feeling really prosperous that day to order anything else.

Even though the pie is organic, I think $26 is insane.

I shop at Capers, I know what things are costing these days, but seriously, some of the prices here, even though they are local and organic are just out of order.

I will keep coming here for lunch, but I'll bake my own pies at home, thanks!

This is the Best Chinese Food in Chinatown for my Money
Submitted Friday, January 1, 2010 - 6:35pm [Dine in]

Living in nearby Strathcona, we have had our share of Chinatown dining experiences, and in fact, could be considered seasoned veterans as Caucasian Chinese food enthusiasts. East Fusion has never disappointed! I do not eat red meat, and I find them to be very reliable when it comes to my perennial request of, "no pork".
My favorite dishes are the Singapore Noodles (no pork) with shrimp, and the deep fried squid with chilies is amazing.
Go here before or after the game, or call for take out if you live nearby.
