Famoso Neapolitan15865 Croydon Dr, Surrey
Terrible Pizza
Submitted Saturday, July 18, 2015 - 3:52pm [Take-out]

When I first heard this pizzeria opened in the Morgan Crossing area, I decided to order a pizza for pick-up to give it a try. I tried the large Cavoletti and Siciliana pizza. The lady on the phone line taking my order was extremely unpleasant and rude, and had quite a hard time understanding my order. When I took the pizzas home, they were just as bad as the service I got. Both of them were horrendous -- they had burnt, thin, and flimsy crusts, and the toppings were scarce and falling all over the pizza. I decided to give it another go a few months later, hoping it would have improved by then, but unfortunately I received the exact same results. Overall, Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria was an extremely unpleasant experience and I highly recommend stopping by Classic O.P. Pizza or Little Caesar's if you're looking for much better pizza in the area.

Amazing Vietnamese Cuisine
Submitted Saturday, July 18, 2015 - 3:45pm [Dine in]

Went out here with my husband for lunch a while back. We had previously been shopping at the Semiahmoo mall and noticed this place nearby while walking in search for a place to eat. We were seated immediately upon arrival. I had the small house noodle soup, and my husband had the large. We also ordered a side of spring rolls. The food arrived very quickly. The soup was a little salty for my taste, but enjoyable nonetheless. The noodles were stable and had a good texture, and the beef was very well done. The spring rolls were crispy, hot and just the right taste. The only problem I had was that the small soup was much less in size than the large, but a much smaller difference regarding the price. Despite that being so, the meal didn't seem too pricey. Not cheap, but not expensive either. The environment was very clean and pleasant; the tables were constantly being kept clean by the waitresses and the decorations are nice to look at. The next time I have a chance to stop by here, I'd love to try the Cambodian cuisine. Overall, in my opinion, River Mekong is the best place to stop for pho in the South Surrey neighbourhood.

Good Breakfast
Submitted Wednesday, December 30, 2009 - 10:09am [Dine in]

We were out of breakfast so we went here to this breakfast place at King & I Muffins. We ordered the ham & cheese omelette with hash browns and white toast, plus fries and the chicken burger with mushrooms. Ham & cheese omelette was tasty, a bit salty for me though. I wasn't a big fan of the hash browns though, but the ketchup fixed it. Toast was a bit hard but I was a big fan of the strawberry jam and peanut butter that came with the toast. Fries were great (probably best fries I've had), and chicken burger was okay. Seems like there are a lot of old people eating there.
Service was good. The lady was very friendly.
Value is okay, a little overpriced but I still loved it.
Ambiance was nice too. I am definitely coming back!

Terrible Food
Submitted Wednesday, December 30, 2009 - 10:02am [Dine in]

My mom and I went to this KFC one day when shopping at Metrotown. We ordered medium-sized fries, and brownies. Fries were very greasy and oily, and brownies were almost tasteless.
Service was okay, but it took quite a while to make her understand what we were saying.
Overpriced. The food is very overpriced for their quality.
Place wasn't very clean.

DEFINITELY not coming back.

Worst Sushi I've Ever Had
Submitted Tuesday, December 29, 2009 - 11:08pm [Dine in]

My mom and I went to Honto Sushi one day while hanging out at Crystal Mall. We ordered just one thing, California Roll, since it was our first time at Honto's. The food came slowly, and it was pretty tacky when we ate it. Also really overpriced. The place wasn't very clean at all, and there was nothing special. Definitely not coming back-- I think other sushi places will fare better for me.

Best Porridge
Submitted Tuesday, December 29, 2009 - 10:58pm [Dine in]

This is probably the best porridge I've ever had in a while-- egg and fish. The cashier is very friendly to me, I think she's noticed that I've been a frequent customer. I also ordered the noodles with XO sauce, but I wasn't really a fan of it because it was spicy. Overall, this is a great restaurant, and I'll be definitely coming back for more dee-licious porridge.

Anson Burger = No, Ribs = Yes!
Submitted Tuesday, December 29, 2009 - 10:35pm [Dine in]

Everytime we go shopping at Costco here on Still Creek Drive we stop at this snack bar to eat. I used to always order the fries & chicken wings plus the fries & ribs, but much has changed when they got rid of the ribs for the Anson Burger.
I tried the Anson Burger, wasn't a big fan of it. All I can say is the ribs were better than that. We order the fries & chicken wings and the Montreal Sandwich or pizza now. The pizza's pretty big.
Service is okay, I don't really know since I've only been here once and most of the time my dad does all the shopping.
Prices are reasonable. Just like I don't really know the service, I don't really know the prices either.
What do you expect with ambiance, this is a booth. The place is pretty clean though.

Am I coming back? We shop a lot at Costco, so yes.

Good Scones
Submitted Tuesday, December 29, 2009 - 10:20pm [Dine in]

Probably one of the best bakeries I've been too, the lady serving everything is very friendly.
I've had the cheese scone, raisin scone, butter croissant, and Nainamo boat. I asked for the cappucino one but she gave me the regular one. Nevertheless it was still delicious.
Cheese scone was yummy, but I liked the raisin scone better. At first I thought the raisin scone was blueberry.
The butter croissant wasn't any better than the ones we buy at Costco.
Service was great, the lady is very friendly and my food came very quickly. In fact I think the lady liked me very much.
Prices are very good. I don't think I overpayed at all!
The place was very clean, nothing special though.

Am I coming back? Definitely.

Things Have Gone Topsy-Turvy
Submitted Tuesday, December 29, 2009 - 10:09pm [Dine in]

The first time we went to Bo Wah, we ordered the fish and egg noodles, the seafood and rice, and the side dish of Chinese lemon chicken. Was very enjoyable. We have also ordered the black-egg thing porridge, but I wasn't a very big fan of it. We're sticking to Fung May's for porridge.
But things have changed. Recently, Bo Wah's awesome food have changed into just mediocre.
Service is nice, the cashier guy was very friendly.
Prices are still reasonable.
What do you expect with the ambiance, it's a booth in the food court at Crystal Mall. The food court wasn't very clean though.

Am I coming back? If the food regains its quality, sure.

A Restaurant for Summertime
Submitted Tuesday, December 29, 2009 - 9:51pm [Dine in]

Ordered the wontons, a bean soup-thing, cold noodles, and corn. I had the wontons, my mom had the bean soup, my sister had the noodles, and we all shared the corn. Wontons were yummy, the pork inside was awesome.
My mom said the bean soup was lovely. My sister was not a fan of the noodles. Corn was delicious. Too bad you can only order the corn in summer...
Service was good. Seems to be ran by nice ladies, we got our food quickly, and were seated almost immediately.
Prices were reasonable. Although we did accidentally misread the menu prices, and assumed that it was overpriced, but I payed the extra and the cashier gave us our money back.
Ambiance was great.

Am I coming back? For summer, yes.

Curly Fries are Taste Heaven
Submitted Tuesday, December 29, 2009 - 9:41pm [Dine in]

It's been about a year since I've last been here before but I recall the pleasant experience.
I didn't expect it to be a booth in the food court at Metrotown Mall, but it was still delicious. I ordered a burger (I can't recall which one) with curly fries, and I got my food very quickly. The burger was okay, but the curly fries... yum!
Service was good because I was served very quickly. What do you expect, this is fast food we're talking about it.
Reasonably priced. I'd pay any price for the curly fries though!
What kind of ambience. It's a booth. Needless to say, the food court was pretty clean.

Am I coming back? Yes. Next time, I'll order the curly fries (I have to get it when I go to Arby's!), and something else.

Overpriced Chicken
Submitted Tuesday, December 29, 2009 - 9:31pm [Dine in]

We went for some fast food for lunch this Saturday at this A&W near our home. We ordered the french fries, and chicken wings & legs for takeout. Food came very quickly but all I can say is OVERPRICED! Those chicken wings & legs cost like, $30. Service was mediocre. At least the place looked nice. There's a Save on Foods nearby this place, I'd rather go there for some McDonald's which is better.
Am I coming back? Maybe, if they drop the prices down a little.

Outstanding Breakfast
Submitted Monday, September 7, 2009 - 6:30pm [Dine in]

Last week I went to ABC Country with my BF and some friends.
When I got in, a nice woman greeted me. I wasn't seated immediately, I had to wait about 4-5 minutes to get a table.
I ordered banana pancakes, spinach omelette, and sunny side-up eggs.
My boyfriend ordered a pulled pork sandwich and spinach benny.
My friends ordered bacon & eggs and French toast.

Little pricey though. We spent over $20.00 on ABC Country. But the food was awesome. The banana pancakes was a little too sweet, and the spinach omelette was just awesome.

Somehow, I've never gotten my sunny side-up eggs. My BF loved the pulled pork sandwich, he said a little too salty though. He loved the spinach benny too.

We were too full, so we brought the bacon & eggs and French toast home in a take-out box.

This food is just awesome. We're definitely going back!

Leave the kids home with dad if you're going here.
Submitted Wednesday, June 24, 2009 - 3:46pm [Dine in]

Just went to this place last Tuesday night with husband and couple of friends.

Now, when I got in, I didn't even get seated! I asked a waiter to give me a table, and guess what he said: "Wait standing, I don't give you the tables" in Chinese. So... I standed. And we waited 45 minutes for someone to take our order.

After 45 minutes of waiting long, someone finally came. I ordered a genzong and banana bread, a pork hot pot, and seafood noodles. The order didn't come until 20 minutes of waiting! Plus, I saw the real price on the menu, and he charged me way more than it's worth!

Restaurant is really small. The old restaurant Tokyo Taipei was way better than this one.

All I can say is: I'm not coming back, unless someone bribes me to.

Anatolia's Gate Restaurant7084 Kingsway, Burnaby
Best Middle Eastern restaurant I've ever eaten
Submitted Thursday, April 23, 2009 - 1:09pm [Dine in]

My husband and I went to Anatolia's Gate for my our friend's 10th anniversary.

Food: We ordered the pita bread and carrot salad. The pita bread was crisp and really tasty. The carrot salad was a little overcooked but it was still very yummy. We also ordered a kebab and a combo (I forgot the names). The kebab's chicken was exactly the right taste, and the combo was the best.

Service: The waiters were really nice. They seated us within 3 minutes and the food came really quickly.

Ambiance: Not really great, but still nice. The restaurant was a little small, but tasty and if you want to eat at this restaurant you should order take out.

Am I coming back? Definitely. Now my husband and I make sure that we go to this restaurant at least once a week.

Never Coming Back
Submitted Friday, March 6, 2009 - 11:48am [Dine in]

This restaurant is absolutely bad! The only good thing is the view. But that's just not enough.

Food: We went here for my niece's 5th birthday. We ordered a citrus pineapple salad, the vegetarian fritatta, eggs benedict, and walnut & strawberry crust. The pineapple salad was horrible! It seems like the chefs didn't even cook the pineapple salad. Eggs benedict were OK, and vegetarian fritatta and walnut/strawberry crust the worst!

Service: The waitresses didn't even smile. They almost slammed the table, broke the plate, and her Alberta beef tenderloin almost fell on my head. Luckily my sister picked it up.

Value: So expensive. It's not worth the money to spend on some horrible brunch.

Ambiance: The only good thing about this place is the LCD TV and extraordinary view. Else, it's just plain bad.

Great food, needs cleanup
Submitted Friday, January 9, 2009 - 1:30pm [Dine in]

Food: I ordered the club sandwich that goes with fries. It wasn't that bad, and the fries are so good! I also ordered the bake seafood with rice. It was incredible! This is a great HK cafe! I also ordered the "Ibao" noodles and bean sprout noodles. They were as good as the club sandwich.

Service: Not so bad. The waitress smiled and happily wrote down my order. But when a bad waiter gave us our food, the plate almost broke and he didn't say sorry.

Value: It's sooo expensive! I don't get why almost everything is ten dollars. It really needs a price change.

Ambiance: Needs a big renovation. Their floor is sticky as honey and it seems like they never mop the floor. It just needs a clean up.

Submitted Friday, January 9, 2009 - 1:22pm [Dine in]

My friends and I went to Sushi Garden on Nov 28th 2008 to celebrate my best friend Jill's birthday. We ordered the Tropical Dynamite Roll, their House Roll, and a side order of gyoza. It was incredible! The waiters gave me the yellow menu the first minute we went in the restaurant. The waiters patiently waited to take our order. The ambiance was great! They have a sofa you can sit on by the window. It's great!

I liked it.
Submitted Tuesday, December 23, 2008 - 11:17am [Dine in]

My family and I discovered Tomoya when all the other sushi restaurants got closed. So we stopped here and took a look. It was incredible.

Food: We went to Tomoya to celebrate my mom's friend's 25th birthday. I ordered the Assorted Sashimi, my sister ordered the Spider Roll, my mom ordered the Spicy Tuna Cone, and the "birthday girl" ordered the Agedashi Tofu and Beef Teriyaki. The assorted sashimi was great, and the spider roll was not so good. But the spicy tuna cone is great and the agedashi tofu was the best. We shared the beef teriyaki and it was great.

Service: The waitresses are so nice. They gave me an extra sashimi because they though I'm cute.

Ambiance: It was the cleanest restaurant we've ever went to.

Didn't really like this one
Submitted Monday, December 22, 2008 - 3:01pm [Dine in]

Food: This restaurant is worse than I thought it would be. The food is too small and it is a little too similar to another sushi restaurant. The first time we ordered we went to another restaurant but there wasn't enough food so we had to go to Kura. It said they open at 5:00pm but it actually did on 5:30PM. I ordered the California Roll and by 5:30PM they still say the restaurant is "closed".

Ambiance: The only good thing about the restaurant is that their are air conditioning.
