I went here twice this week! Went for brunch with friends on Sunday and was sooo blown away by the quality and the pricing. I had the Benny that had sausage on it ( I don't remember the name) but it was awesome!
Took my boyfriend back on Monday night and was ok to wait a few minutes for a table cause they were full. I had a Stuffed Chicken and he had the Steak. Both were delicious. Our server helped us pick out a great cocktail for me and a beer for my boyfriend. They have over 25!! He was in heaven.
The room is really nice, and there are no TV's! And in terms of bathrooms this one should be nominated for the Georgia Straights Awards. Wow can I have this at home?
I have to say of all the restaurants I've been to..this one ranks up there! Definitely worth the drive to North Van!

As one of the later stops on our resto tour - we had our hands full with a 3rd slightly drunken tour member.
I ordered a big coffee - which showed up remarkably fast.
We ordered 2 belgian beers ( now big fans after our stop last week at the district- love you guys ) and another coffee for boozy mcgoo.
For food we had
the gruyere fondue- really nice - WAY TOO much stuff for dipping..I kind of felt guilty with half a plate of apple bread and grapes left.
The Pork Rillete - nice sophisticated and full flavored.
and the Portobello Tart - I liked the addition of the chickpeas on top - very filling.
Our server was overworked - I'm pretty sure she was the only one on - but very fun and accomodating!

Last mondays restaurant included a stop here.
We went downstairs to the Oyster Bar( we both found the upstairs a little stiff ) and were glad we did. Andrew was the man behind the bar, and he was on point.
I've only ever had oyster shooters - so tonight I was gonna pop my proverbial cherry - it only hurt a little.
He suggested 3 types..i sadly dont remember the names but 2 were japanese with K-names. I know too vague.
I had a great glass of chenin blanc, and my friend had Champagne.

It was a quick pop in as we had more places to go to..but overall Andrew mad the experience - funny, quick wit, very knowledgeable.
I'll go back ad try the lunch next week.

My friends and I went on a tour again the other night..hitting up Salt, Social, Soma, Lolita's, Me and Julio's and the New Fiction.

We started at Salt. I've been here a bunch of times before, but hadn't been in about 6 months. The service, room and selection were awesome as always.
I like the idea that you rarely feel you're surrounded by civilians a la milestones etc.
Anyways, as I'm walking back from the washroom, I started a conversation with the manager, who then led me to the basement to check out the new room! Wow - just you wait Vancouver - this will again revolutionize the dining scene.
SO back upstairs we go..
Great espresso, great reds and an amazing selection of meats and cheeses ( at this point only closely matched by the district in North Van)
Way to go guys - amazing room, amazing concept!
