Dinner last night was a toss up. Where to go? Tired of our usual Kits outings.
We found Fish Cafe in Kerrisdale.
Small place, very busy. Friendly greeting and a table by the fireplace. Good start. Menu was a chalkboard on the wall which was different. I like how you can see right into the kitchen, clean. We order drinks, myself a glass of wine and my guy had lager on tap. I asked what was good and the waitress suggested grilled calamari. Ok. Fish and chips for my fellow.
OMG, the food was so yummy. I had fish soup to start, delicious! My calamari was tender and spicey and came with garlic butter which was yummy (duh) and I enjoyed the rice as well. BF said the fish and chips was the best he has had! He said he couldn't get enough of the tartar sauce and needed more. Blonde waitress was super friendly and brought us drink and tartar refills fast. I felt the prices were fair too. So, we will be back. For sure. Yum. Yum. Yum.
I live in Vancouver but visit my family every summer and Christmas. And everytime I make sure I get a amazing yummy yummy Donairs at this place. Best i've ever had. Fresh food, clean place with friendly guys. and my mom LOVES their crispy perfect onion rings. Keep it up Donairs station. I'll see you in the summer.
Been to Abigail's a few times in the past and decided to take my Gf there again for a "nice" date night dinner. All I can say is that I signed up to this website specifically to say that it is now crap. Terrible. Buttermilk wings were BLAND!! I've never seen wings this size with so little meat. The breading was flavourless and wayyyy too thick. Steak Frittes came cold and chewy. Side salad and fries were both disappointing. My Gf had the burg which was ok. Again the fries and side salad, which is just store bought greens with dressing on top, were bland and BORING.
Service matched the food, cold bland and boring.
Drinks were good.
Prices are high.
No wonder this place was empty. Just us. Alone with our heartburn.
This party is over.
