Earls3850 Lougheed Highway, Burnaby
Too loud, too pricey, too bad

My husband and I love going out to eat, even though both of us are great cooks. When we go out we always like to order something that we ourselves can't cook.
We came to Earl's to celebrate my last day of school and his new promotion.

I ordered the pasta with olive oil and tomatoes, he ordered the Jerk Chicken dinner.

First off, The pasta was swimming in a pool of poorly tasting olive oil. I asked the waitress to make the pasta in a more of a tomatoe base rather than the olive oil. That didn't happen. Equally, for 17$ pasta dish, why is garlic bread not a part of the dish, instead paying 4$ extra for a piece of bread drowing in olive oil and vinegar. YUCK!

My husband's dish was equally poor. 24$ for the Jerk chicken dinner with a scant amount of vegetables, a small amount of potato's and a fatty piece of chicken breast that was totally underseasoned. After the fat was skinned off of the chicken, there was a tiny piece of chicken left to "snack" on.

The only redeeming quality was the single serving of Tobelerone Cake. That was yummy.

How come Earls has become a "nightclub" where you can hardly speak to the person at the table because the music, sports or what ever else is going on is too loud.

Anyway Earls, Cactus Club all need to stop spending so much on their open concept kitchens, trendy bathrooms and TV's and sound systems' and get back to what really matters. GOOD FOOD with portions that equal what you pay for.

Red Burrito1700 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
Is it legal?

I am a huge fan of the Red Burrito in North Van, so my wife and I decided to stop by this one on Commercial.
The burrito was not special, I've had better. They charged us extra for cheese and the guac. Just like the other guy said. The bill came to 20 bucks for the two of us. Now this is where it gets interesting. They make you pay 25cents extra if you wish to pay by interac.
So I can spend all the money I want there and still get dinged for paying them . I think it's a scam that needs to be looked into.
