Horrible pizza 2 for 1 quality at full price, don't bother it really sucks!!!
Submitted Friday, August 27, 2010 - 10:40pm [Dine in]

I have had pizza all over the lower mainland and make it from scratch quite often so I generally know whats good and what is crap. This pizza is solid crap, $25.00 for a large colosos as they call it is really a joke but I'm not laughing it's pathetic .Probably about a half a cup of cheese on the whole damn thing and very sparce with the meat and veggies.Crust was very bland, no thought was given to making this pizza whatsoever, very disapointing. Ambience is actually nice has a comfortable quality about it, very deceiving however. They need to get some good pizza makers involved in this place to make it outstanding. As it stands right now it is on par with any formula fast food joint serving little amounts of toppings for as much as they can charge.Won't go back not interested period, save your money and try somewhere else .

Hooked on the double dogs
Submitted Friday, October 23, 2009 - 2:44pm [Dine in]

I've been here several times and about the third time there for lunch I ordered a doubledog which at the time was an odd joice for me (hotdog? ground lips and assholes right?). I loved this doubledog from the moment I had the first bite! I ordered it with chhese and it came with fried onions as well. The weiners are the European type ,they high quality and taste just awesome. The bun is very moist and light very easy to eat. When I'm working in the area I always stop by for one of these and on a few ocassions I have driven out of my way for one(damn weiner addict).
The place really could use a makeover though and it wouldn't cost a lot to add to the ambience with a little fresh paint etc.Regardless if they do or don't spruce the joint up I will still be stopping by for another doubledog.

Waste of a good pizza oven
Submitted Saturday, April 26, 2008 - 1:03pm [Dine in]

Pizza???? Waste of a nice brick oven to put commercially made cardboard crust with a few "gourmet" toppings . Soup was SOOOO gross- love Garlic , but had more vinegar than garlic-- When we complained - we were shrugged off. - Also had the table so close , the waiter bumped into me to get by. instead of going around . sad, sad sad when it claims to have good food.
It's dark so you can't tell how dirty and dingy it is.Tried to hide the fact they are not making their own crust-we asked - they said they did - then we saw the large stack of premade pizza shells-- they will probalby be hiding them now. NOT a great place for a good dining experience --Will NOT be returning or recommending this for their food...

I love this place ,we have dined here at least half a dozen times over the past year or so and never had a bad meal there. The rack of lamb is awesome for $22.95 you can't beat it with it's generous portions and great flavour. They also have Warsteiner German beer on tap here it is always cold and fresh tasting I order it every visit.Belly dancers on the weekend for entertainment really liven the place up.Servers are fast and friendly the owners are two of the nicest people you would ever meet. Very warm patio experience in the good weather, they even have a private gazeebo for up to 6 people you can sit under.Just a solid all around good night out without spending a big wad of cash. Always a comfort to return to this place for dinner.

Very poor attention to customers, deadbeat staff!
Submitted Tuesday, November 20, 2007 - 6:31pm [Dine in]

My wife and I go to Granville Island a fair bit and this particular evening in September we just missed the lounge at Granville Island Hotel. It had closed early so the two of us went to the Cats Meow it was about 9:30 pm.I have passed the place several times and thought it looked like an interesting place to go for a drink and a bite.We got there and were directed to either the patio or inside so we chose the patio. There was one other table of 6 there and only about a dozen or so people inside. We waited and waited no one came to serve us.Finally I went in to the bar and got the drinks myself brought them out to the table by the time we finished them we still did not have a waitress come out to see if we wanted menus etc. We were going to order some food but got fed up and decide to go inside and pay.Even that proved to be a big pain. The bartender was off in the corner chatting up some people while the waitresses they did have were nowhere in sight.I finally got his attention and had the big honour to pay my bill. This place has the location and ambience to do well it just misses the mark by a long shot, the joint needs a major overhaul ie personell shakeup. As the song goes,"send in the clowns, don't bother there here"! So appropriate.

Too long to wait for lunch, sad.
Submitted Monday, January 22, 2007 - 2:59pm [Dine in]

My wife and I went here for lunch on a Saturday about 12:30pm,thought we would grab a quick bite before heading off shopping for the afternoon. There was only 7other people in there taking up 3 seperate tables. We thought it was great we didn't have to wait to be seated as we weren't in a big rush but just wanted to dine and move on.We both ordered the chicken breast with jack cheese on focaccia bread with mixed vegetables. It took almost 45 minutes to arrive! Since we live about 2 blocks away from the restaraunt it would have been faster for me to walk home and make 2 sandwiches and bring them back to our table. To top it off they were both just barely warm bordering on cold, should have sent them back but didn't want to wait any longer. The waitress realizing the order had taken so long offered us dessert for free,so we accepted. This took another 15 minutes to arrive,by this time I just had to keep a sense of humour as I didn't want it to dampen the rest of the day.Who the hell is running that kitchen in Beaches?Whoever it is needs to smarten up big time. I could understand the wait if the place was full to capacity with patrons but there was hardly anyone in there and now I know why! I will not be returning there any time soon or will I recommend it to anyone ever.
