Yummy tacos!
Submitted Monday, December 10, 2007 - 4:41am [Dine in]

Had lunch here. My husband had the breakfast burrito, and said it was good. I had the three taco - ground beef. Wasn't able to get three different meats though! Lots of tomatoes and iceberg lettuce but not enough cheese! Very tasty though! Tater tots were deep fried so could feel my arteries clogging up right away. Too loud music for small space. Stood there for about 4 - 5 minutes before the lady came out to take our order. She was on the internet - I guess surfing! And yes, i would come back.

Just Decent
Submitted Monday, December 10, 2007 - 4:38am [Dine in]

Been wanting to try this restaurant and finally did. Was not overly impressed. The burgers tasted like moist cardboard. Paying $0.99 for processed cheese??? Too expensive too. I would have been happier with a Big Mac from MacDonald's. Felt too crowded sitting there eating. The sun was shining but no shutters to keep out the glare so hard to find decent seating. Will I go back?? Probably not.

I thought I would have my say about this restaurant eventhough I was there two years ago.
I've always heard wonderful things about this place. Large portions and authentic Italian.
It's been two years, and I haven't been back. I would prefer to go to Anton's and they're not even Italian cooking!!
The meal was not memorable - all I remember is not being blown away from the taste, and very, very, very SMALL portion. And it was expensive!! If I had known, the quality and the taste, I would have stayed home and made it myself.
Overall - everything was ok but nothing outstanding!!!

Just OK!

Three adults and one child went to this restaurant late Saturday night. We were the only ones there around 8PM, so was a bit concerned!! BUT . . . after being there for 15 minutes, the place filled up.
The food was good. We asked for two of the dishes to be very mild so that my daughter could eat the food. It was hot. They took back the butter chicken twice to make it milder, but still too hot. She enjoyed the Garlic Naan and rice!!
The other two dishes we asked for medium hot but they came mild so obviously they got it mixed up eventhough we repeated the instructions a thousand times.
The service was very good as we had our water glasses filled all the time. We've had better Indian food but this was good.
Will we go back?? Only if we had more Entertainment coupons or other coupons, otherwise, not really worth it. (At first, the waitress did say that they take one Entertainment coupon. As we ordered four main dishes, they should honour two . . . she had to call the manager over and he reluctantly said yes to the two. So, if you're using more than one coupon be sure to ask ahead of time!!!)

My Greek Taverna946 Brunette Avenue, Coquitlam
Miss this place
Submitted Tuesday, July 17, 2007 - 2:45am [Dine in]

I used to live in Coquitlam, and frequent this place a few times. Since living in Vancouver, I haven't been back to this hood in ages.

I had the Roast Lamb ($11.95) and is absolutley delicious. Melt in your mouth tenderness. It came with ALOT of rice, half a roasted potato, large portion of Greek Salad, TONS of lamb and pita bread (a bit on the greasy side!). There was sooo much food that I have enough for my lunch tomorrow.

Service was OK. There was a table with about 10 guys so all the waitresses seemed to be serving them and forgetting the rest of the people in the restaurant. It was OK as it gave time for my friend and I to talk but when I needed more water, they weren't around! I felt bad for the people sitting around the guys, as they were very loud. Anytime I glanced up, no one was talking to anyone at the other tables because of the guys. We would have stayed for dessert but too noisy. They should have sat the guys in the bar area, as they would have had a private section and the other guests would have enjoyed their meals more.

Good place to Eat!
Submitted Friday, July 6, 2007 - 2:36am [Dine in]

Had a late lunch here today with my husband and daughter. I had a quesidella (sp?) with spinach, cheese, tomato and some sort of meat. It was nicely fried but HUGE!!! Didn't care too much for the potatoes. Even though they looked delicious, they weren't!!
My husband had the usual breakfast fare of the three meats and potatoes and hash browns. Said it was good.
Our daughter ordered the Mango smoothie. I found it to be too artificial tasting but she liked it so I guess that's ok.
Service was very good and very cheerful bloke serving us. His use of "cheers" made us feel as though we were eating in London and we've never been to London!!!
The place was pretty funky!! The address given is on Yates Street but you actually enter off the other street!! WOuld definite go back to this place and recommend to friends!

Good place to eat!
Submitted Friday, July 6, 2007 - 2:29am [Dine in]

Had a late dinner here last night. I had the BLT with the house salad. The BLT was delicious and I was amazed with the house salad. I was expecting an iceberg packaged type of salad but no, it was chopped romaine with purple cabbage and tomatoes!! It was really good! My husband had the club house with fries and said it was good. Hard to get a real opinion from him! Our daughter had a cup of the Chicken Corn Chowder (the waitress gave her a bowl instead!!!) and she really liked it. For dessert the three of us shared a bowl of plain old chocolate ice cream!! It was absolutely delicious!!
The restaurant had a diner feel to it and the waitress matched it well!! Didn't write anything down, just memorized it. Also, that greasy smell that you get when eating at a diner . . . yep, got that!!!
We can see the kitchen from where we sat, and it was very clean!! We would definite go back here when we come back to Victoria and will recommend it to people.

There was 5 of us eating dinner here tonight. Sat us at the large, slightly dirty, round table. Asked the girl to wipe it clean, and gave us the look as though we were nuts!
One of us asked for a pot of hot water. She acted as though they didn't have any!!! Don't asian people drink alot of hot water??? Isn't this an asian restaurant??
Ordered 5 dishes. Not very good food. Felt sick afterwards. The Pho wasn't very good. Curry tasted ok but not the best. Small spring rolls and the chicken and pork satays were burnt.
Didn't come and ask how everything was.
When my husband tried to flag one of the girls to get our bill, she didn't come to the table to see what he wanted. He had to ask for the bill from across the room. Weird or what!! We decided not to leave a tip as we didn't get any service. The bill was for $37.10. We had $40 and my husband stood and waited for the change. THey wouldn't give it to him. He had to ask for it. And when they did finally give it to him, they threw it at the counter.
Will we be back? NOPE!! TOo many other great Pho places to waste our time here.

We had a lunch for someone that's leaving for other adventures. We sat at a table upstairs, away from the main part of the restaurant which meant, we did not see our waitress very much. Most had the Kitsilano Sandwich which looked good and they all said tasted good. Someone shared a club house. It didn't look too appetizing. Too thick slices of bread and not enough filling. My friend had the chicken cesaer salad. The lettuce was brown and wilted. She did say something and did not have to pay for it but how can they serve something like that and for $13?? I had the Tuscan soup, very tasty but found very, very pricey for just under $6. There was less than a cup of soup and no bread or crackers!! Don't know why I go there as Sharks Club is way better.

Loooooooong wait after 7PM
Submitted Monday, June 4, 2007 - 10:12pm [Dine in]

Had dinner here last night - thinking it was going to be a quick dinner. Arrived just after 7PM, and was seated right away. Came to take our order as soon as we sat down, and we weren't ready. I knew that was going to be a mistake because I knew they won't be back for a while. And I was right. At least 10 minutes went by before they came back. The restaurant was busy but with 3 wait people, that shouldn't have been a problem. Because after 7PM, certain things on the menu is 40% off - so we ordered an order of Prawn tempura, vegetable tempura and 6 different types of sushi. It took over 15 minutes for the tempura to come and over half an hour for our sushi. For a moment there, I thought they forgot about us. We asked for tea twice and got it only once. The food is decent here but the long wait, is not worth it. We will go somewhere else. Also if they know they're going to be busy after 7PM, why not hire another person to help with the sushi making???

Way Overpriced!
Submitted Monday, June 4, 2007 - 10:02pm [Dine in]

We took my Dad to Morton's for his birthday Friday night. WOW! Was expecting to be at a high-end restaurant but NOT that overpriced!!
Our waiter seemed very, um, non-chalant, very it's a job kind of person. The food was very good but I've had better steaks at other places. Four of us had two prime ribs, one medium well and one medium. They were tastey but found it very fatty tasting. My Mom had the salmon, which I found out after dinner that it was overcooked. (Made a great salmon melt sandwich the next day though!!!) My hubby usually has a drink or two with dinner and I just kept my toes crossed that he didn't order any as I didn't want to see what the price would be for it. With dinner, the six of us shared two ceasar salads, which didn't taste very ceasary; a plate of mushrooms, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. My Mom had the HUGE baked potato but still can't justify the price of a potato!! For dessert, we pre-ordered the Hot Chocolate Cake which was delicious but for $14???? Way overpriced!! We also got the Key Lime Pie which was also delicious BUT way overpriced.
Morton's is a decent restaurant, but you will have to be at the higher tax bracket to eat here. I don't like going to a restaurant and watch what I'm eating because of the price. I want to be able to eat what I want. If I win a million dollars, I don't think I would go there still - Gotham's for sure!

Had lunch here yesterday. Food was OK nothing spectacular. Too much food and too pricey. Service was really good. Booth backs covered the view of the city, especially for the location! Not busy at all and I guess that is because of the construction. Don't understand that!!!

We were seated right away. Ordered a few minutes later. Our appy arrived, Turkish Fries - very tasty! Dinner took a bit longer but when it did, presentation was very pleasing to the eyes and very tasty to the tongue!! We both ordered the lamb and beef patties. The salad was simple but delicious, the white beans where delicious and the patties had soooo much flavour!! We found the pricing very reasonable except for the beer. A bit pricey for a pint! Will recommend this place to other people and will probably go back!!
