Village Sushi Bar13020 No.2 Road, #150, Richmond
A Hidden Gem!
Submitted Friday, July 2, 2010 - 3:28pm [Dine in]

Tucked away along No.2 Rd in South Steveston, the Village Sushi restaurant is truly a hidden gem. Run by a young Japanese couple, this is some of the best (and freshest!) sushi I have eaten in Richmond or Vancouver. The prices are fantastic, the food is made with love and the menu is not so overwhelming that you can't make up your mind. An absolute must-try if you are in the area.

Best Lemon Meringe Pie I have ever had!
Submitted Tuesday, June 8, 2010 - 11:16am [Dine in]

Although most people head to Steveston in search of great seafood, I have to give a shout-out to Blue Canoe's lemon meringue pie. It is quite honestly the best lemon meringue pie I have EVER tasted. It arrives at your table as an unsuspecting, whole pie and once you have your first bite, it is game over. The meringue is to die for and the lemon custard is unparalleled. Perfect for sharing with your hot date or for ordering as take-out when you have a bad break up!

Mmmm....Westcoast Fisherman's Pot!
Submitted Tuesday, June 8, 2010 - 11:12am [Dine in]

My husband and I headed to Steveston on the weekend to indulge in some fresh seafood and we definitely stopped in at the right place. I ordered the Westcoast Fisherman's Pot and it was FANTASTIC. As a self-proclaimed seafood snob, I was impressed by the assortment of fresh seafood, the delicate, flavorful broth and the necessary piece of garlic bread which came on the side for dipping. A must try!

Always Disappointed
Submitted Monday, August 3, 2009 - 11:53am [Dine in]

This weekend I once again ventured to Solly's in Mount Pleasant. I think the only reason I keep going there is because the parking situation is better than at Whole Foods. I also honestly want to believe that the miserable owner will someday have an epiphany, treat her staff better and implement a training program that teaches the difference between 'bagel' and 'brown bread'. Every single time I go here, my order is completed incorrectly, the staff are either grumpy or completely unaware of customers being there. I sit on the stools waiting for my order with my fingers crossed and watch, hoping that they'll get my order right this time. Seriously, I can go to Starbucks and order the most complicated drink known to man/woman without a hitch yet I can't get turkey and brown bread, straight up! Someone needs to forward these reviews to the owner aka 'Woman Scorned'.
