Very authentic satay
Submitted Saturday, February 24, 2007 - 9:34pm [Dine in]

I'd admit we've only done takeout so far, coz there isn't much of a restaurant feel to this place, more like a cafeteria. Their satays are worth having, come with the rice cubes that you don't get everywhere else, and the roti canai & dipping sauce was good too. Go for the food, not much an ambiance...

Good value for the dine out menu!
Submitted Saturday, February 24, 2007 - 9:09pm [Dine in]

We went to Infinity the last week of them offering the dine out menu, and it was a weeknight, literally only 2 tables that night, so it was nice and quiet. We liked all the courses we got from the menu, however I have to say my steak was little on the salty side. We were quite impressed by the homemade soft drinks they offer, and the dessert was good with french press coffee. Will go back to try their regular menu sometime...

good beef noodle soup and dumplings
Submitted Saturday, February 24, 2007 - 9:04pm [Dine in]

We just came back from eating at Lao Shan Dong, boy, the place was packed, so crazy! We ordered the beef noodle soup with spicy soup, mixed noodle (dry), dumplings and Taiwanese cold appy, they were all pretty good. And they came so fast, we were literally in & out in half an hour, it's amazing. I would recommend you try this place for the food, but not much to say about the service or ambiance.

we enjoyed the evening...
Submitted Saturday, February 10, 2007 - 11:38am [Dine in]

Decided to try this place based on the previous reviews. We were there last weekend, and made a last minute reservation, only the 5 o'clock was available, a little early, but we went. Were seated at the corner, quite cozy, and private. Our server was very attentive until later on when the place got really hectic. Had the smoked duck linguine, liked it a lot, and my companion had the sable fish - the fish was a little under-seasoned, could use more salt. We enjoyed the prawn & scallop appy and their bread was warm and tasty. Will go back again!

busy busy busy place...
Submitted Saturday, February 10, 2007 - 11:30am [Dine in]

Everyday we pass by Anton's on our way to work and home, always see people lining up, the same every night, every kind of weather, so we've been too scared to go becase of that endless line up. Yesterday had a day off, decided to go for lunch at Anton's. Had to wait even at lunch time, that just shows how busy this place is. My friend ordered the Penne Bombay, it was very very good, and my seafood pasta was fulfilling as well. Our server kept coming back to ask if we needed anything, and my friend got his pop refilled 3 times! Overall it was a good meal, decent service at a super busy place.

My favorite mini (personal size ) hotpot
Submitted Saturday, February 3, 2007 - 1:08pm [Dine in]

I've always enjoyed eating at Pearl Hot Pot, and the food is good, and service's friendly. I've brought many of my friends & familes there over the years. I can honestly say this is the number 1 choice for mini (personal size) hot pot for me.

The place tend to be packed on the weekends, and also being wintertime, hot pot is a lot of people's favorite meal. They offer variety of side dishes you can order as add-on to your hot pot meal, and discounts for weekday lunch & late night (you can check with the restaurant on the detail). If you have never tried hot pot before, this is your chance!

Tasteless BBQ Meat...
Submitted Monday, January 1, 2007 - 10:08pm [Dine in]

We passed by this place a couple times and thought it would be a good place for korean food, but it turned out to be a real disappointment. Honestly, in my opinion, this is really the worst Korean BBW restaurant I've ever been to. The BBQ meat is tasteless - it's not even marinaded - and the portion of the food is not even enough for 2 people and yet the combo menu said it's for 4 people. At the end, the waiter forgot to serve us the sweet soup. I have to say that the server's attitude is not bad really, but the food really sucked!

Not too bad....
Submitted Tuesday, November 28, 2006 - 10:31pm [Dine in]

we went there tonight, wanting to catch the early bird dinner special on the buffet, but due to the traffic, we got there around 5:45 and got a regular dinner menu, but it was pretty reasonable considering the variety of the selection, I think. personally I do not eat raw fish, so I was happy to see they offer alot of bbq (robata) and tempura dishes. If you are not big on raw fish but into sushi and cooked stuff, I think you can give this place a try. And I also found the service pretty fast and friendly, we got our orders very quickly and hot food was hot, not luke warm, which is a very big plus to me.

We enjoyed our anniversary dinner
Submitted Tuesday, November 28, 2006 - 10:27pm [Dine in]

We went on a Monday night, on our anniversary date. Was happy to find out they have BUCK A SHUCK on Mondays, as my partner's very much into fresh oysters. We also got the set menu they had to offer, I think it was around $30 per person, very good food. And we also added lobster to what we ordered. Everything was good actually, and our server was very nice & talkative. We enjoyed the night very much!

It's a wonderful family restaurant
Submitted Tuesday, November 28, 2006 - 10:21pm [Dine in]

We went there a couple of weeks ago in the afternoon because my friends wanted all-day breakfast. I was very happy with my eggs benny, as it was nicely done, and very affordable priced. And my friends enjoyed their omellettes very much. The waitress was very attentive and courteous, very polite.

we went to Horizons for my brother's birthday, and took advantage of their $29 3-course dinner menu. we liked the flavor of the onion soup, but found it too salty. my mom enjoyed her salmon and shirmp wellington while our steaks were cooked close to our likings. our favorite of the night was the dessert, the chocolate mousse cake was very good, worth gaining weight for.

I'm glad I gave the 2nd chance...
Submitted Saturday, October 21, 2006 - 11:56am [Dine in]

We went to LK last night, and we had the Taste of Yaletown menu. We truly enjoyed all the items we ordered - soft taco and steak & potato empanadas as appy, halibut and duck breast as mains, granita & cheesecake as desserts - they were all good. It was a great deal, don't miss it! Also, my friend had their coconut mojitos and she said it was 1 of the best she's ever had. The service was outstanding, we were very pleased....

It was definitely worth the visit...
Submitted Sunday, October 15, 2006 - 10:45pm [Dine in]

I just came back from dinner at the Hamilton Street Grill. We had the Taste of Yaletown $35 menu, and it's really worth every penny. Had organic greens to start, organic beef hanger steak, and gingerbread pudding with caramel sauce, pumpkin and ginger gelato. It's a very satisfying dinner. The service was good, our sever was very polite and courteous. We had a wonderful time. I can't to go back and try other items on the menu.

Han Woo Ri5740 Imperial St., Burnaby
Our favorite Korean BBQ place by far...
Submitted Saturday, October 7, 2006 - 8:58pm [Dine in]

My family's generally into bbq and hot pot, and we have always come here if we want to eat Korean bbq. Han Woo Ri offers combonation dinners, and we find those to be good value and taste. Last night we went there again, the place was packed, after 45 minutes we settled and orders were quickly placed. They served up the food pretty fast, and we enjoyed dinner cooking bbq with conversations, it was a very enjoyable dinner. Word of caution though - you can expect to smell like Korean bbq when you finish your dinner, so we always throw every piece of clothing we had in the washer as soon as we got home and take a shower too! But, that's expected...still a good place for Korean bbq...

Great all-you-can-eat~
Submitted Saturday, September 30, 2006 - 11:24pm [Dine in]

We went to Shabusen tonight, had a reservation for 6pm, and we left at 8pm, very on time, as they have a 2-hour time limit on the buffet. The good thing is, though they limit your time, they do serve everything very very quickly, so we had plenty of time to cook the bbq & eat. The sushi selection and quality was good, and my family's very satisfied with unlimited qty of salmon sashimi as that's their must have. Overall it was a nice dinner - if you go there hungry, you'll leave fulfilled for sure!

pretty good burger
Submitted Thursday, September 28, 2006 - 10:17pm [Dine in]

I have heard so much about their burger, I decided to order one for myself. It's a pretty good burger, but I don't really think it's that great. In fact, I still enjoy White Spot's Legendary the best. But that being said, I'm still very glad that an individual small business is doing well in my neighborhood...Great job, guys~

My favorite Pearl Mike Tea
Submitted Thursday, September 28, 2006 - 10:07pm [Dine in]

I love drinking bubble tea, and every time I go to a new tea place, I'd order a pearl milk tea to try as a test, coz it'd tell me how good their drink is. It never fails. And I can honest say their pearl milk tea is my favorite in all of Vancouver. Me and my friends also enjoy eating their food as it offers good value and taste. Be prepared when you go there as it often has line-up anytime in the day...Enjoy it~

It was a special birthday dinner to me...
Submitted Thursday, September 28, 2006 - 9:53pm [Dine in]

My best friend told me that she's gonna treat me to a secret birthday dinner at a unknown location. I couldn't guess where she was taking me to, and it turned out to be Five Sails. I have heard good things about the restaurant but never been. I must say their service was very very good, it was very good timing for bringing out the food as I didn't order the same thing as the others - they chose the full (6) courses chef's menu while I opted for ordering from the regular menu - and it was not intrusive at all the whole evening. I don't think I have eaten a 3-hour dinner before, but the evening was very special. I enjoyed everything I ordered - scallop appy, caesar salad - you might think it's stupid to order a Caesar salad at this kind of restaurant, but I have to say it's by far the best Caesar salad I have tasted it - my main course was the duck, and a chocolate desset. Being it was a Wednesday evening, the place was nice and quiet, just a few tables. Unlike some other high end places where it gets super noisy, if you want to celebrate a special occasion at a place that's nice and secluded, I highly recommend this place!

We are so happy we found this place...
Submitted Monday, September 25, 2006 - 8:05pm [Dine in]

We used to go to Sushi Garden across from Metrotown, and often got so tired of the endless line up and poor service, but we kept going back because we like the food alot. Now, thanks to the previous review, we found this place, which is really compareable to Sushi Garden, and in other ways, much better. I would say they offer good food at responsible price, and fast & friendly service. Highly recommended!
