Frogstone Grill, The22932 Lougheed Hwy, Maple Ridge
Positive experience every time
Submitted Sunday, July 11, 2010 - 8:37pm [Dine in]

I have eaten at Frogstone at least a dozen times in past 3 years. Service always, prompt, friendly, helpful and reliable. Food always good and have many creative dishes and presentations.

Value is very good. Appies are large servings.

Atmosphere is a little unique and the do well in playng on the frog theme. Positive and pleasant. Must be kid-friendly judging by number of families with kids dining.

Have also disappointed to see some menu items disappear such as the nachos which were a favourite. Even so, menu is diverse enough to have lots to choose from.

Parking is good in the strip mall location.

I will keep going back and recommending to others.

Marina's Gelato11968 224th Street, Maple Ridge
Great urban gelato cafe experience
Submitted Sunday, July 11, 2010 - 8:26pm [Dine in]

This is a step above an ice cream shop. Gelato is a little pricier than other ice creams but worth it in my experience as the Gelato is superb.

Atmosphere is pleasant. Little cafe tables and suitable decor. Clean for a downtown place like this.

Location is great in centre of town. Again adding to the cafe experience. Parking not a problem in downtown area. Very short stroll to the town square to sit on benches or lawn on a sunny day.

Service is always pleasant. Samples offered to help you choose wisely, given that you are paying for a premium product.

Great presentation of flavours in trays in freezer case. Kids love it. I will keep going back and recommending to others.

Kabuki Sushi12522 Harris Road, Pitt Meadows
Outstanding experience every time
Submitted Sunday, July 11, 2010 - 8:18pm [Dine in]

Have dined at Kabuki over 30 times in past 4 years.

Always had favourable experience. So many sushi places have been drifiting fast-foodish. Kabuki keeps a personal touch. Food consistently great. Service consistently friends. Restaurant is clean and suitably decorated. Pricing is very fair. Very few sushi places are posh or gourmet. This place is definitely above average. Parking never a problem.

Forgot my credit card there one time and got it back. Says a lot.

I will return and recommend this place to others.

Great food, service, and value.

I have never been disappointed with Toyo. Consistently great food and friendly, prompt service. Pricing is fair. Have eaten their probably 20 times in past few years. Never a bad experience. Worth your while.

The little rooms are cozy and make for a fun experience. Parking is good and easy to access off Dewdney. I will continue to be a patron and recommend highly.

Fabulous old style diner! Clean, friendly, great value.
Submitted Thursday, July 8, 2010 - 10:25pm [Dine in]

I have eaten breakfast at the Kitchen on the Ridge a few times. Bacon, eggs, pancakes, etc. Fabulous! Service is great. Courteous and friendly. Place is impecably clean. Value is great. Have not had cantonese menu at all. But for Saturday or Sunday breakfast, you can't beat it.

Paliotti's Ristorante Italiano12018 Edge St, Maple Ridge
An all-around great place for lunch or dinner
Submitted Thursday, July 8, 2010 - 12:49am [Dine in]

The food is great! The deep-fried mozza appy with seafood sauce is incredible. The steaks and pastas are great. Veal is great. Yes, it is busy and bustling. But that is only because people are lining up to get in.

Service can take a while but is always courteous and helpful. Portions are huge and staff does not leave you feeling bad if you split a meal.

Paliottis seems to know who they are and what they provide. And they provide it consistently.

Ambiance? Well... what can you say? It is a family-owned Italian steak, seafood, and pasta place. Its lively and the decor is a little dated. So what. You get what it is. So best to set your expectations accordingly. Owner has come out a number of times and chatted with patrons. Nice guy.

I'll keep going back.

Dairy Queen Grill & Chill20492 Lougheed Hwy, Maple Ridge
Untrained and rude staff
Submitted Thursday, July 8, 2010 - 12:39am [Dine in]

I have given lots of business to the Dairy Queen 20492 Lougheed Highway. No more.

Their staff, especially the drive through staff, are untrained, discourteous, and rude. They consistently act as if they are being inconvenienced. They act intolerant of any questions or requests. Or just ignore. Fast food restaurants staffed by teenagers need not provide poor service. This one does. I hope the owers care.

I have also observed the staff slop together menu items in a rushed fashion. The service I experienced is a discredit to the Dairy Queen name. I will go to the other location on 224th from now on. Then again, maybe the joke is on me if it is the same owner.

Never the less, the staff needs to grow up. Sorry for the trouble.
