Mr. Pickwick's Fish & Chips8620 Granville St, Vancouver
outstanding customer service
Submitted Sunday, October 3, 2010 - 2:00am [Dine in]

i went there with a friend this afternoon, place was crowded, the patio and the indoor seats are all taken. we ordered 2 pieces of cod + fries, the server asked if we are sharing the order, and we told him yes. when we got our fish and chips, we were very surprised that they took the time to split the order, 2 individual plates, extra fries, additional tartar sauce, one more set of fork and knife. after eating for a while, the server came back and asked how we are doing with the food. incredible customer service, always smiling, and very friendly.

Japas Bistro552 West Broadway, Vancouver
okay

we used the indulge living coupon ($7 for $14 worth of food + 1 free premium drink). we ordered gyoza, chicken karrage, beef rice burger, ebi mayo. i like everything except for the gyoza. gyoza needs to be pan fried a little bit longer. service was pretty good. i'm not very into japanese food, so i'll stay in downtown or richmond in the future.

Samba Brazilian Steak House1122 Alberni Street, Vancouver
one of the best for meat lovers
Submitted Wednesday, September 1, 2010 - 7:22am [Dine in]

i went there twice (once for lunch, and once for dinner). lunch and dinner offer very similar stuff (all kinds of meat and salad bar), except that dinner has dancers (but i'm not interested in dancers at all). lunch menu is only 50% off the regular dinner menu. price is very reasonable! definitely a try in vancouver!

Japa DogCorner of Burrard and Smithe, Vancouver
overrated and overpriced
Submitted Wednesday, September 1, 2010 - 7:17am [Dine in]

japa dog is the most expensive hot dog i've ever had in vancouver. i guess i'm just not a japanese hot dog fan. many of the street western hot dogs can beat japadog easily, and your homemade BBQ hot dogs probably taste better! will not go back again, waste of money.

sun sui wah offers the best chinese seafood in vancouver. their alaska king crab is the best i've ever tried before. and their shrimps and fish are also very very good. if you're interested in chinese seafood, you should check it out. prices are reasonable (only during promotion period), otherwise, it's a bit pricey.

Kobe Japanese Steak House1042 Alberni Street, Vancouver
overrated and overpriced (will not go back again)
Submitted Wednesday, September 1, 2010 - 7:05am [Dine in]

i got a $25 for $50 deal from an online coupon, so i decided to give it a try. we (2 ppl) ordered 1 hibachi steak ($39.95) and shared order (an extra $15.00). how can an extra bowl of rice and soup cost $15.00. VERY UNREASONABLE!!! with taxes and tips, came to $76.00. (overrated and overpriced)

food was just okay. i can out perform that easily with a piece of $7.00 tenderloin from costco. i'd rather go to GOTHAM STEAKHOUSE. kobe is not worth it at all. will not go back again.

best steak in vancouver!
Submitted Sunday, May 9, 2010 - 2:02am [Dine in]

gotham has the best steak in vancouver! must try!

we ordered porterhouse steak, filet mignon, england clam chowder, creme brulee, and salad. everything is great!! even their bread + butter.

dessert is just okay, i wouldn't order their dessert again.

however, i hoped they did something more special for the birthday boy! (no cake, no candles, no discount, nothing....)

Very POOR service!
Submitted Sunday, May 9, 2010 - 1:57am [Dine in]

food was just okay, i think it's over-priced.

service was AWFUL!!! we (2 ppl) stood at the reception to be lead to a table, 10 minutes passed by, 3+ servers walked passed by many many times (delivering dishes, packing up, cleaning tables) and none of them talked to us nor directed us to a table. (there were 3 tables available at that time). it was unbelievable! however, when they were collecting payment (cash), they were very very very fast, it took them less than 1 min to take the money away! AWFUL!!!
