We (my girlfriend and I) hadn't been to kobe in a while so we made reservations last saturday night. When we got there it was pretty busy so they got us to chill out in their lounge. Although we weren't able to go up right away, the waitresses were getting us drinks right away and the hostess kept coming back to us with an update on how soon we would go up.
Our chef was hilarious, making jokes as he's throwing around spatulas and spices. The food definitely deserved the 'incredible' rating; the steak was very tender and the prawns were delicious (great sauces for them too). Not to mention the soup that was included in everyone's meals was great (I find that starters can definitely make or break your meals and many people forget to include them in their ratings).
Aside from the food we tried some of the Kobe's special drinks. I went for the Chi chi (can never go wrong with a Pina colada made with vodka), while my girlfriend had a Mai tai. Let's just say if that Mai tai had any more booze there would be no room for the pineapple juice.
The service was very quick, from the time we sat down in the lounge and got our first drinks, to the after dinner coffee and tea we had before going home. They (the waitresses) were all very friendly as well.
I definitely suggest this restaurant to anyone who wants a good steak and seafood meal (there's also chicken and veggie meals, but I haven't tried them yet). Although it cost more than the average japanese restaurant, you are definitely getting what you pay for, and you can't beat the authentic environment with old japanese relics spread throughout the restaurant.
