Pulled pork sandwich+ me=WOW
Submitted Friday, June 22, 2012 - 2:20pm [Dine in]

I am a avid rustys customer it seems, I like to review my local watering hole at least twice a month ( it sucks my old posts get deleted)..Anyways, I am always game to try new things here, everything i have had has been amazing..I tried a pulled pork sangich ( i thought it was a typo ..apparently the chef likes to watch epic meal time)..It was big, messy, dripping all over my face, hands and forearms...It was amazing. Although my only complaint is it didnt come with a bib..perhaps ill bring my own next time. I also had the shrimp tacos to start..very fresh and different than you would think. Wasabi coleslaw..cajun shrimp..two things i thought wouldnt go well together but wow..it was good. Pretty sure ive gained too much weight over the past 6 months of going to Rustys..worth every ounce..keep it up chef.

Better than Tojo's
Submitted Thursday, March 8, 2012 - 2:44pm [Dine in]

As you can see from the title i love this place. I went there i think when they first opened and every time i go it still am amazed on how these guys can pull this off. The food is always fresh..different tastes on every plate and there is always something new to try. The staff is always so helpful and nice when we walk in, they remember our names for crying out loud..mind you i think we did go there about 3 times on a 3 week span through the summer, but they always have a smile and something positive to say.
The food here is the best sushi I have ever had. I have eaten at many places over the years and I love this food more so than Tojos downtown. the owner/chef Mike is always trying something new and exciting..i have told him on almost every time we are there he should be downtown vancouver battling it out there rather than being in langley. i would still do the drive if they ever move.

Every time i go, i overspend..overeat..feel exhausted from eating too much..and then have the feeling of wow that was amazing..i recomend this place to everone i know and i hope all of them take me up on it..they will not be dissapointed. keep it up Mike.

Went for sushi..had to eat hotpot
Submitted Thursday, March 8, 2012 - 2:32pm [Dine in]

I went to this place in hopes of getting a good sushi fill, as it is a AYCE place..or so i was told. When we arrived on sunday afternoon, we were taken to our table given a menu in japanese ( not to be racist in any way..but im white..my family is white, and as much ias i would love to learn the language, i just didnt have the time at lunch hour to do so)..
When i asked for another menu to look at the waitress who seemed very unimpressed that we couldnt speak the language pointed at the same menu at the miniscule font under the japenese which does have english ..pretty sure the font is about a 2 so hard to read, Anyways, i asked for the sushi menu and i again recieved the look of ugghh..we only have hot pot on the menu for today. Now i was unimpressed, but seeing as we were there we decided to try...when i looked at the price it was insane..69 dollars for the hot pot to share..but, seeing as we were already there and starving we tried it..there was no discussion on how to eat this with her..we did state we were hot pot virgins to attempt to get a laugh or something out of this waitress who must have had somene piss in her corn flakes this a.m., she was having none of this.
We waited for the food for about 15 minutes, didnt take long mind you, but it just wasnt worth the 95 dollar price tag after it was all said and done ( did i mention they charged me 4.80 cents for tea?). Needless to say I will not be going back for hot pot...or the service..especially the bitter hot water they called tea..i might go back for sushi, if they have it.

Before i see all the hate out there from all of you, i am not racist, i love chinese, japanese korean food. This place to me is just overpriced and not well staffed to make another return

Very disapointed in how this place has changed, prices way too high for the area, food was not even up to snuff for pub fare. As for the service, I sat at the bar, so i assumed it would be faster than the waitresses, I was wrong. considering there was only 15 people in the place. I used to go there last year and it was great, dont know what went wrong but change it back.

big burger..didnt like the decor
Submitted Saturday, July 16, 2011 - 7:55pm [Dine in]

this place has been totally renovated and it still looks half finished. Other than that the buger i had was huge, pretty good too. The price was resonable considering the size of this beast. With the lack of people in the place i thought it would be faster and service be more attentive. Instead of having to look for the career waitress to get my bill and again find her to pay...dissapointed to say the least

What a room...bad service..food was tasteless
Submitted Thursday, January 13, 2011 - 4:42pm [Dine in]

I went to ulounge a while ago but forgot the experience as fast as leaving through the really big doors...the place itself looks very trendy and downtownish ( i know its not a word..but you get it)...the service for a place that small should be outstanding...how can you hide?...apparently we did...in the middle of the resturant where the hostess sat us...ordered a couple of appies...good, small but good..I had their prime rib dinner, what a dissapointment, 26 bucks for 10 dollars worth of fat and gristle..was on a pretty plate tho...next time ill go to rustys.

Dont know whats going on here
Submitted Thursday, January 13, 2011 - 4:33pm [Dine in]

I like to go out to eat...and when i do i enjoy eating food....this was not the case at this pub. It was very slow during the week so i went in for a late dinner...waitress was too busy talking about her outing from the bight before and how hung over she was to care that i had been sitting there for 5 minutes waiting for someone to at least take my drink order....now when i said it was slow..im pretty sure the staff outnumbered the patrons 3-1..I was dissapointed for the "food" i ate and really didnt feel so great after the dining experience. the only thing i can do is never go back.

WTF Happened?
Submitted Thursday, March 4, 2010 - 3:45pm [Dine in]

As the title says, I have reviewed this place not too long ago and then it was great. I went back the other day to have another wonderful experience.....and no. Apparently, there is another owner..another chef...so i gave it another whirl..hoping not much had changed. Well, the food ...i think it was food...over priced crap. The new owner, an angry looking man who doesn't do all too much bit sit and watch others work. The only saving grace we had was our server, nadine (i hope i remembered her name)..was nice and very helpful when it came to all of our questions. Very professional indeed...even when I asked her bluntly about the sudden change of owners and chef..she kept her composure and never bad mouthed her "boss"..It is too bad the chef is gone, that guy really seemed to have a love or passion for the food...now it just seems like slapping it on a plate...too bad I guess if we are in cloverdale again, rustys will be our bar of choice.

Enjoyable food..service lacks a bit
Submitted Tuesday, May 20, 2008 - 3:52pm [Dine in]

Iwent out to this resturant and I was surprised with the food...very nice and fresh. I waited at the bar and was kind of snubbed by the BArtender....When I did get my drink, he was not as attentive as I would have hoped. When I recieved my food I was happily surprised with my order...it made up for the lack of service. When I do go back I will get a table and not sit at the bar. The food saved this place for me.

Submitted Sunday, March 2, 2008 - 6:03pm [Dine in]

I am a Burnaby native, I go out quite a bit..dont like to cook for myself. I usually go out to Shark Club twice a week for drinks with my friends. I always eat and so far I am not dissapoointed. I love the Butter Chicken bowl, wings, nachos and the burgers are friggin huge. When I read these other reviews, I just dont get it how they can complian so much..get a life people. These guys work hard for what they do.
