We decided to try the newly opened Cora's this morning in Coquitlam. This is a perfect example of cheap fast food. They will actually serve you bologna for breakfast with your toast and eggs.
I always find it curious why restaurant's need to put seasoning on the potatotes while they are cooking them. The pancakes tasted sour and smelled strange, and the crepes had no taste.
For a well known restarant in other parts of Canada, you would think they would serve better food.
Go to the White Spot across the parking lot if you want a good breakfast.
After reading the previous reviews, Mrs. G and I decided to have sunday lunch at the Derby Grill . What a great suprise. Its a horse racing betting restaurant. We ordered the Steak sandwich with caesar salad and I ordered the Beef dip with onion rings. We enjoyed our potato skins as an appetizer, with real bacon and sour cream, they were wonderful and tasty. Its a 50km drive from Vancouver to the Derby Grill and worth the trip. Our next visit will be for the Prime Rib Dinner this sunday, and looking forward to it.
The Runway 26 Buffet re-opened August 5th, as "The Buffet". The newly renovated restaurant is now a 260 seat spacious dining experience. The food and service is as good as it was originally.
They have a flowing chocolate tower for the kids to dip their marshmallows and fruit. The seafood and prime rib is being served at the Sunday Brunch.
We just visited Cactus Club in Park Royal for the last time. Several months ago, they decided to remove the best potato skins off the menu, to make room for more new items. Now today we discover that they are not using caesar salad dressing for their caesar salads any longer.
The two main reasons we would drive from UBC to West Vancouver is for the potato skins and the caesar salad. When they make silly changes to the menu, the customers will not return. At least now we will save the gas to make the trip.
After shopping at the Wal-mart on grandview, we decided to try the new Boston Pizza in the area. A brand new restaurant with great food and wonderful staff. We ordered our favorite potatoe skins, over-roasted honey garlic chicken wings, and hawaiian pizza.
Our waitress was courteous and friendly, making sure all of our food was perfect. Since our first visit, we have returned again with the same outstanding service and great food.
We arrived at this location at 11:00 am on a sunday morning.
As we were being seated, there was a large group of loud speaking oriental patrons with children in the same section. And as they were not concerned about any other patrons wanting to have a quiet sunday lunch, we asked if we could sit at another section as there was only the two of us.
I could overhear the Manager say that they weren't going to open the rest of the restaurant for only two people.
We thought we would save them the trouble of providing any service to us and we left.
If the Manager could have kept her comment to herself, I might have had a boston pizza for lunch.
I recently visited the newly opened Ricebar on West 10th Avenue. I ordered the Deep Fried Chicken Wings with Rice and the wings are crispy and tasty. They have Deep Fried Pork Chops, BBQ Pork Ribs, and Curry Beef and Chicken Dishes. It will be a nice addition to have this Hong Kong family in Point Grey.
I recently ordered chicken chow mein, s+s boneless pork and wonton soup for take out. The service was quick, and food was a very nice surprise. The restaurent is small, but clean and warm. The lady owner is very pleasant and happy to please.
I originally saw the review for the Phnom Penh on this website.
After my first visit to this restaurant, i keep returning for the great chicken wings with the lemon sauce.
The deep fried chicken wings are terrific. They are crispy with a great original taste.
My wife and I visited the Backstage grille for lunch today. I ordered the Prime beef Dip, the wife ordered the chicken pot pie.
Both dishes were wondeful, the beef was tender and the dip was
good prime beef gravy. Not beef cube in a cup.
The pastry of the pot pie was flaky and light.
The service was friendly and the seating was comfortable.
I met the head chef before leaving to express my pleasure of my first of many lunches at his establishment.
