A Disappointment
Submitted Monday, December 8, 2008 - 12:44am [Dine in]

Decided to try bbt for the first time in Coquitlam. I had high hopes for this place even tho my dining experiences in Coq was never that great.
Their website made them look so fancy and yummy.
Their drinks did not "deliver the sensual and superior taste experience" as they claim. Their drinks were just average. The milk tea barely tasted like it's made out of tea.
The place is small and not comfortable; I was hoping for a lounge-like atmosphere. I guess this place is more for take-outs. I hate it when they call it a bbt house when it can not "house" that many ppl.

Don't think I'll go again. I'd rather drive to Burnaby or Vancouver.

Looks like Korean house
Submitted Sunday, November 30, 2008 - 11:15pm [Dine in]

I think this place is more like Korean house than Jap Noodle house. But other than that, their Ramen noodles are very good! In the first 2 pages of the menu, they have assorted noodles to choose from. Other ramen houses serve only 2-3 diff ramens.
We had their Shio ramen, which was a little small but their soup base was addictive and probably does not contain msg. The chewy-ness of the noodles met my expectation. We also had this special spicy noodles w/ lots of veggies. That bowl was huge! Also their soup base was addictive.
I will definitely come here again. I don't always like to go to Downtown to eat ramen.
This place has limited parking spaces but when we went, which was a weekend, there were lots of availability.

Busy Sunday Brunch
Submitted Monday, November 24, 2008 - 11:40pm [Dine in]

This place has been in business for quite some time now. A classmate recommended this place so I decided to give this place a try. At 1ish on a Sunday, we lined up and waited for 15mins. This place was packed and there was only one server available, ouch.
On the menu, there were lots of choose from. There were the typical ham n eggs, bennys and other goodies. Their food looked better than it tasted. And it was quite pricey. French toast was almost $10.
As for atmosphere, it was very homey with lots of antique stuck all over the wall.

I wouldn't go again b/c I actually prefer Ihop.

Handmade noodles
Submitted Monday, November 24, 2008 - 12:18am [Dine in]

Came here twice and both were good experiences. Their noodle soup are huge, could feed 1.5 person. They're all tasty and the noodles are handmade.
The service is decent. Some could speak fluent English. And they know their dishes well.
We ordered a bunch of things last time and everything tasted consistent. I don't have any thing in particular to recommend, it is best to ask the server.

Tiny place
Submitted Monday, November 24, 2008 - 12:05am [Dine in]

This place is small! We had to wait 1.5hrs for dinner last time. This was our friend's choice or else I wouldn't pick this place. Many yrs ago, I tried this place on the west side (I think w.4th) and it was a horrifying experience.
But this time, I must admit, they have improved a lot. We had the hummus with dried crostini which was refillable. We also tried the french onion soup. The soup was delicious but it had too much bread in it and it filled me up very quickly.
I noticed on their menu that they have cheese fondue which looked pretty yummy. And they have a big selection on soups which I might wanna try in the future.

Great Girls Night
Submitted Sunday, November 23, 2008 - 11:59pm [Dine in]

Went here w/ a bunch of girls for dinner. We shared a bunch of appys and entres. The server was nice and patient when we ordered the drinks and food.
Everything we ordered was good and consistent. There was nothing that we did not like.
This place is gorgeous and spacious with live music in the background.

Will definitely go again. It's also a nice place to take your significant other.

I agree with all the reviews
Submitted Sunday, November 23, 2008 - 11:49pm [Dine in]

Their dinner portions are small and they do not give out complimentary breads. Wth? The salmon we had was abit small and dry, but the risotto that came with it was to die for. The seafood linguine was extremely tasty with lots of seafood, at least 3-4 clams. Overall, the pasta was quite small; it can fit a small bowl. The bruschetta (for appy) was decent.
The only good side of this place is that it's quiet and has a nice view of the library.

Submitted Sunday, November 23, 2008 - 11:35pm [Dine in]

Read a bunch of great reviews of this place on dinehere.ca and decided to treat ourselves to a delicious evening.

To my surprise, this place was not what I expected. This place was "nice" but I thought it'll be more like West Restaurant. There were not enough dinner selections. We had the tuna tartar and the ling cod. The tuna was yummy, nothing can go wrong with tuna tartar. The ling cod was a disappointment especially that it was the most expensive thing on the menu. It was ok and did not melt in my mouth. As for dessert, we had the brownie w/ peanut butter ice-cream. That tasted alright and wasn't too satisfying.
As for atmosphere, they were playing some freaky non-loungy music. It wasn't very romantic.

I would not go again.

We went here the other day at 7pm. There was a line-up and the cashier had no idea how to manage the people. She just told us to line-up but how would she know who came in first? There were like 15 ppl standing all over the place. After some people have left with frustration, another person came up with idea of writing people's name down. Duh. Once we got our seat, we got our tea right away. All the servers were busy running around but I agree w/ the previous reviewer, they're not that attentive. We ordered the hot pot (J1 on the menu) and it took more than 30mins. What do they need to cook in there? Isn't everything pre-cooked? We were very hungry. But what we got was rewarding though. Pork bone w/ meat and some veggies. The soup made my tummy feel warm and happy.
I recommend this place. I think the quality and portion is the same as other locations.

Mixed feelings everytime
Submitted Friday, October 31, 2008 - 10:35am [Dine in]

I've been here four times. Two times were regular menu and the other times were all you can eat.
The first time I went, which was years ago, we had regular menu and I was happy. The food was good and service was good.
The other three times gave me some mixed feelings. My family and I came here last yr for regular dinner menu and the food sucked! The sashimi and rolls were nasty. I think they took it from their all you can eat tray or something. My dad ordered meat w/ rice and the rice was DRENCH with some sort of soup or sauce! What the hell? We asked a server why it's like that and she couldn't answer. Then some guy came along and explained to us in a way that somehow made me feel like it wasn't their fault. Overall, we were unsatisfied.
Third time we had all you can eat w/ 10+ people. I don't remember much about that experience.
The fourth time we had happy hr (5:30pm) on a Sunday for $13.95. We thought that was a good deal cuz normally it's $19.95-24.95. The food was acceptable and it came out pretty quickly. The rolls seemed to look better than last time. They also have sashimi and unlimited pop.

Yummy crepe
Submitted Friday, October 31, 2008 - 10:23am [Dine in]

I live 30 mins from this place but their banana w/ nutella crepe can not keep me away.
I normally order the dessert crepe and bbt. Their bbt is too sweet sometimes, so I suggest you ask for half sugar. They have some interesting mixed drinks so if you feel a lil adventurous, I say give it a try.
As for service, they're ok, same as any other bbt places. I think I do have to wait a long time last time but we try to relax and not rush ourselves.
I think this is the place to be for crepe. But for bbt, there are so many other ones in Kerrisdale.

It's getting there
Submitted Thursday, October 23, 2008 - 12:02pm [Dine in]

Decided to give this place a try b/c of the good reviews I've been reading.
Came here on a weeknight. I thought it'll be busy but only 1 or 2 tables were occupied. What's cute about this place is that they have Hallowe'en decor and inflatables. The waitresses were dressed up. The washroom was clean w/ strobe lights and Hallowe'en music.
As for the menu, there weren't many choices. Their style of food is part Jap and part White. They have pasta, curry and rice w/ a Jap twist. I was hoping for tapas but they don't serve it. I can't recommend anything yet b/c there is nothing spectacular.
Their food look 20-30mins and the presentation is kinda ghetto. The salmon had like 7 pieces of fries and some frozen veggies on the side. Some of their dishes were kinda expensive. It costs $10-12 for Jap curry w/ rice. The bill came to $28 and I felt like I was barely fed.

I may try again if they serve more dishes.

All need proper training
Submitted Thursday, October 23, 2008 - 9:38am [Dine in]

I like Tim Hortons' food but I really can't stand their service. All of them in all the locations I've been to are incompetent. They're always screwing up orders. And some of them act like zombies; they have NO expressions! I only order a combo and they can't even get 3 items right! A sandwich, a donut and a drink. C'mon! It's frustrating!
Ok, as for food. I think they have pretty good lunch combos. You can sub a coffee w/ an ice cap, etc. Their donuts are fresh and I heard that their Chili w/ garlic bread is really popular. But they really need to work on service. The managers need to smarten up.

It's definitely going DOWNHILL
Submitted Wednesday, October 22, 2008 - 10:47am [Dine in]

Been going here for 8-10yrs now. They are known for their huge tall cakes.
But now, it doesn't matter anymore b/c the prices have gone up dramatically and the service is pretty much non-existent.
I used to order the mudpie (heated) w/ ice-cream and now it's costing me $9. So that's almost $20 for a couple and that's just dessert! Even a 5-star restaurant don't charge that much!
Last time I went was a slow day and the lady working there, which looked very out of place, was slow and sloppy. Like she just came out of her bed. She looked sick and miserable which made me feel so disgusted. When the bill came, she didn't even thank us. It was such a horrible experience that I will never go there again. It's kinda sad b/c I've been such a loyal customer. You can read the other reviews, the manager/owner really don't care about their customers. I wrote a complaint many months ago and they didn't write back yet.
They have lots to work on.

Very misleading
Submitted Tuesday, September 23, 2008 - 1:53pm [Dine in]

I have lots of complaints about this place.

1) Their name:
First of all, they made the restaurant name so fancy that I thought it was a fine dining Chinese Restaurant.
Second, their food is technically TAIWANESE and 5-10% Chinese. C'mon folks, bubble tea is not from China!
Lastly, why do they call a bubble tea place a Cuisine?
2) Their food:
I ordered French Toast and it was loaded w/ batter and it's super duper crispy. Instead of giving me pancake syrup, I was given honey. Yuck! What kind of combo is that? That's NOT traditional French Toast!
My partner ordered some fish w/ rice and the fish was full of tiny bones! Almost choked him to death!

I don't recommend this place! >(

Submitted Wednesday, September 17, 2008 - 4:42pm [Dine in]

Been here 6 times over the past 3-4 yrs and the quality has been consistent. The menu selection is huge and I never remember what I ordered the previous time. So far, all the pastas I've ordered has been good or better. From clear sauce to tomato sauce. The portion is humongous, I'm sure everyone will agree. One plate can be shared between 3 ppl. But I heard that if you order take out, you will get 50% less, yikes. There is always line-ups at this place no matter what day it is. I like to go at 5 or 5:30pm when the restaurant is starting to fill up. The waitress are nice, not spectacular. But the last time, she kept on forgetting things but oh well, we were busy enjoying the pasta. There is a minimum charge but a lot of times they don't mind if you share a plate of pasta between 2 ppl and order drinks.
I totally recommend this place.

I'm not a huge fan of all you can eat but I thought I'd give this place a try since they have great reviews here. They are located on the 2nd floor in a lil plaza.
The place is spacious and comfortable with huge windows facing aberdeen centre mall. The service was good, the girl server was very smiley.
We had lite dinner special at $19.95. They also have the deluxe special for $3-4 more which includes more choices of sashimi. They also have hotpot for a few bucks more.
Food: I must say that their food is above average. The sashimi is pretty fresh. The food (sushi rolls, cones, etc) is presentable and quite good.
This place is good for very hungry and/or big eaters. I think it's a pretty good deal for $20.

Submitted Thursday, August 7, 2008 - 9:54am [Dine in]

Ok, I've been here 3 times. The first 2 times were great. I don't really want to talk about what happened the last time I went but I think I should.
The last time I was there, I was with a guest. We ate like crazy. 5 orders of beef & pork and lots of veggies. Everything was fine and dandy. The food was tasty as usual. The service was pretty good considering that there was only 1 server per 9 tables. I felt sorry for her.
After we left the restaurant, we went for a short walk. 15 mins later that, our stomachs were hurting. The next we know was that we had to run to the nearest washroom. Keep in mind, most places were closed. It was terrible. We both had diarrhea. I had it twice and it wasn't funny. So in the end, we were wondering what went wrong. For sure it was the food from Posh but don't know which food items since we ate so much. I think the meat was pretty fresh but some veggies did looked like it's been sitting around for awhile.
It's so unfortunate to say that I might not come here again. I'm quite disappointed because my bf loves this place. I dunno what to tell him.

They're going downhill aren't they?
Submitted Sunday, July 13, 2008 - 11:43am [Dine in]

Been here a few times ordering to-go and I had eat-in once. This place looks like a fun place to be with the whole "crepe kitchen" window opened up to the public. You always see those curious people looking in and wanting to order a crepe for their own.

The last few times I ordered crepe, I always forget that I will regret it in the end. They're just so expensive, more than $5 for one topping. Wth? A lot of times the crepe are pre-made so you don't know how long your crepe has been sitting there. What's the fun of this if you see them make those fresh crepe but it's NOT for you. The fresh ones are place on a dish for future use. Wth? And they're so small! Can't feed any hungry tummy, not even a child. There's this one time I ordered chicken and cheese. The chicken was so small, it was camouflaged into the cheese! I was left starving!

And one time I sat-in for brunch. The lady told me to sit on this seat where I have to walk through 2 tables which were practically 3 inches apart. I'm not big, but I'm not thin as a stick either! I had to suck it in in order to get to my seat. It was ridiculous. That day, it was quiet so I could've sat anywhere else. I should've said something, argh.
The service was kinda lacking but whatever, I was hungry. The eggs benny tasted alright but left me with a stomach ache all day.

I will never go again.
