ONe of my fav jap places

they really shud have more of these charcoal places around here. BUt this place is one of my favorites, my regular must have dish is the daikon salad which has that really appetizing plum sauce. My favorite skewer is the uzura bacon, i usually order a lot but should stop myself cuz of the cholesterol in those eggs :P
the other skewers were also really good, haven't tried one that i didn't like yet! Their atmosphere is really lively and you get to see the chefs make your skewers and everything. Food usually came at a good speed too. love it there!

first of all, the price and value: for $25 incl tips on a weekend dinner, you get free pop/orange juice/etc (THAT already beats other places), its really a good value. Food, i can't believe they have deep fried scallops, those were also. The grilled salmon belly was also a favorite, food came pretty quick. Overall we had a pretty good time there. The seats are pretty comfortable, mostly private/semi private rooms with comfy booths. I recommended this place to all my friends, can't wait to go try them again. Probably for the happy hour, cause its much cheaper.

disappointing
Submitted Sunday, March 1, 2009 - 6:56am [Dine in]

Always drove by this place but never tried it before. Finally had a chance for a friend's birthday. Food overall was a lil bit disappointing though, despite the line up outside. Beef sashimi didn't not taste like much, neither did the lobster sushi. the first batch of grilled squid was mushy but the second was better. Food appeared inconsistent, we ordered 4 plates of fried chicken wings separately, some were too dark and some looked right, but all tasted too salty. Gyoza had a really weird taste, almost like plastic, as a friend had suggested. Oyster motoyaki and the others were in those eggtart foil cups, not in their traditional oyster shells, each one has about 1/3 of an oyster so it seemed like we ordered a lot. Ambiance wasn't bad, it was a nice atmosphere, constantly crowded. Good for big parties as most all you can eat places, but food....ehh...not so encouraging, probably won't go back.

loved how we were greeted by the staff and how happy they always appear. its a great place to drink and have fun with friends and great for bday parties bcuz if you bring in a cake, they will all sing for the birthday girl/boy, and then the other ppl will join in and u end up having the whole restaurant singing. the drinks are really creative and nice and their small dishes are awesome. what's better, they also have sushi as well as tapas which adds more variety to the menu.

went there once with 3 other friends and although the menu is quite limited, we found ourselves some wonderful dishes. we ordered 6 plates to share btwn 4 people and it took us almost 2 hours to finish. there was a long waiting time between dishes even though it wasn't very busy, we waited at least 15 minutes in between each dish at we left without being too full. but the food was pretty good altho small.
