Brunch? On St. Clair West
Submitted Friday, October 21, 2011 - 11:31am [Dine in]

Id just like to point out that the name is Brunchworks. Don't let that fool you, their limited brunch menu is only available Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 9am-3pm.

I was happy to see a new place open up on St. Clair and was excited to try it. She had the Standard breakfast and I had the Yorkville Omelette. I realize it is just breakfast but it took almost 30 minutes for the food to come after being ordered. When it arrived, her eggs were runny on top and slightly burnt on the bottom. She had scrambled eggs........ My omelette was burnt and the dill was still on the stalk. Really, I had a mini bush in there. There was a lot of cream cheese. Most places don't put that much in but there was more cream cheese than egg.

I didn't say anything at the time because one patron had to leave with her food because she was complaining it was slow and another man was getting mad at the server and getting a little loud. Also, hearing a server say, "we are just having an off day. Its usually much better," and "our timing is usually better," to other patrons didn't help my experience.

To add, the angry patron was given a free, shipped in, pastry made by La Rocca (and they do make amazing products)
