We'd been looking for a while for a good breakfast place in Poco. Went to a couple places that were ok, then we found KC's. It's now our 'go-to' weekend breakfast spot. It's family run, with very friendly service. Always chatty and personal, they remember who you are. The food is great too. They have everything you could think of for breakfast and it's cooked just right.
We wanted to try a new Chinese food restaurant, so we heard some good things about Wah Wing. Boy were those other reviews wrong. We got Sweet and Sour Pork, House Chow Mein and Chicken in Black Bean Sauce. First, the chow mein was soaked in sesame oil, no taste what-so-ever! Second, the sweet and sour pork (usually a staple in Chinese food around here) was chewy and bitter not sweet or sour. Third, the black bean sauce also tasted like sesame oil. How does that happen?!?!
We will never eat here again, 3 strikes and your OUT!!! Oh and the food was fairly expensive too. Just a heads up if you wanted to experiment...
Koi is our place for Sushi. We live in Poco, but used to go for sushi in Coquitlam. I went to Koi on a lunch meeting and since then it has been our place. It has a quaint atmosphere that they've tried to make it look authentic Japanese. The sushi rolls are all made fresh when you order them and just something about them puts them ahead of every other Japanese place in the area.
