Submitted Thursday, March 8, 2012 - 4:24pm [Dine in]

In operation for the rest of the month according to the service staff.
-Old menu is still there, slightly revised in pricing and consistency.
--The last roast beef I had for 8.99 was tasty but tough, and the sides were small.
- Hot food is only available till 3pm.
- Gonzo are the seniors, value meals, and 3:30 dinner specials.
-Roast lamb shank price jumped to 11.99
-Morning and weekend breakfast special
-A grill, international cuisine, salad bar; are only during peak lunch hours and close at 2pm.
-A variety of baked goods, a selection of soups and premade sandwiches are available till close.
-They went really cheap on the utensils.

The food was good, but maybe it was the daytime menu it did not have any garnish. I was hoping for more ambiance but it was tv and no music. There is no separate lunch menu pricing which is too bad. I will try again with friends for the dinner menu to see if the evening dining has more ambiance.

Quiet Please

The chocolate brownie was yummy and reasonably priced. The coffee was fine. Nice location.

Basic coffee shop, not a lot of baking selection, zero art, minimalist decor, dead quiet.
I would only go back here if I wanted to recreate the feeling of being in church or a library.

Lots of and serious single folks on laptops. yawn.

What do you expect for a 4 buck sub

This started out as a promising place, location, fast eats, good price, but, I was very disappointed with the quality of food on the last visit and won't be going back. The food was undercooked and tasted off. I know, what do you expect for a 4 buck sub, but really what was that.

On the plus side I got date molasses for less than other delis, the baklava was fresh, and the filo spinach pie is well worth it. The olive oil soap a steal. The selection of deli fresh spreads was impressive looking.

They made a mistake and overcharged me on an item, so I recommend checking your bill, expiry dates and looking closer at weights and portions. The service wasn’t overly friendly, but it is a deli, and there’s nice seating outside, which has some charm.

The baking is very good, reasonably priced and totally unpretentious. The servers were friendly, gracious and genuine. I felt like I was in a cross between a safe house and the Adams family mansion, which is why it just felt like home.

There was a group of fun young people, producing music and levity for their photo shoot, which was a lovely random addition to our experience.

I wasn't aware that the lunch service ended at 2:45 so being 1/2 hour late, I was going to leave. The very friendly manager suggested we take the early dinner menu which started technically a 1/2 hour later, which was a gracious compromise.

Mom--who can't eat anything remotely spicy--settled on a nice noodle number with plain broth soup to start. The portions were bigger than I thought they would be for a special menu. I had the red curry which was quite good. The starter tom yum soup was a meal unto itself and very satisfactory.

The Thai iced tea, and in fact all the food, met my expectations. I was happy to walk the distance from the Canada line to revisit an old haunt.
