Decent place but was expecting more
Submitted Thursday, July 2, 2015 - 10:55am [Dine in]

Went here with the family and some friends for lunch. The burger's prices were around $12.99. The fries were not bottomless like other places but were tasty. The Buddy Holly burger that I ordered was decent but nothing to write home about. The breakfasts that my daughter order was very good. The pancake was quite large. The sandwich that my wife ordered was decent. My milkshake was below par. The ice cream that they used was melted and it might as well been a float. There was no thickness in the milkshake. For $4.99 I would have expected much more. Overall the experience was average. For what you get, I would venture elsewhere to get my burger fix. Plus the parking could be better. The location is in the mechanics/garage district of Delta, weird place for a diner.

Decent food but in a weird location between Mac's and Sleep Country
Submitted Sunday, April 12, 2015 - 11:14am [Dine in]

Went here with the family for a quick greek dinner. Upon entering I noticed that it was quite smoky not from cigerettes but from cooking. Their ventialation is not working to its potential. We ordered the chicken kabobs with rice and salad along with humus and a bread. Also I ordered the lamb and chicken sharwama. The kabobs were decent, not dry but could have been more flavourful. The rice was tasty and the salad was satisfactory. My lamb and chicken sharwama was delicious. They seasoned the meat well. Juicy and plentiful. The price was ok, but more expensive than the original posting states. Decent place but strange location. Might come back but there are better places for this type of food.

New sushi restaurant in Fleetwood Surrey
Submitted Monday, February 2, 2015 - 1:30am [Dine in]

Went here to try out a new sushi restaurant in Fleetwood area. The restaurant took over a old coffee shop. The decor is decent but nothing out of the ordinary. The service was attentive and prompt when they refilled your tea and water. But the value of what you get is the kicker. The bento boxes were on the pricer side of other sushi restaurant. You get the same type of food ie californian roll, tereyaki chicken on rice, green salad, soup etc but we ordered the noodle soup for the kids as sushi is a bit too adventureous. What we received for over $8 (as I recall) was basically instant noodles with two spring rolls. I was shocked as the noodles had the exact same texture as instant noodles as well as the broth tasted like it came out of a package. I could not believe that they even have that on the menu. Was very disappointed and probably not returning as there are far better restaurant out there.

Delicious and tasty noodles
Submitted Monday, February 2, 2015 - 1:13am [Dine in]

Drove by this restaurant several times when I am out and about and finally decide to give this place a try with the family. Never been to a Ramen restaurant and was pleasantly pleased. If you can overlook the different types of ingredients that this place has compare to other noodle restaurant, then you will be surprise how tasty the food is. Ingredients like stringy fungus and milky looking broth. Both these ingredients was in my beef brisket noodle soup and I was glad that it was. The broth was hot and full body with flavour. The meat was delightfully cooked. The vegetables and noodles was well prepared as I felt very satisfied eating my dinner there. The kids shared the beef udon noodle soup and the that tasted awesome too. Especially the broth. Wifie had the pork cutlet with noodles and she said that she enjoyed it as well. Overall we had a wonderful experience and I will definitely returning soon.

Great little restaurant for Mongolian AYCE food
Submitted Monday, February 2, 2015 - 12:58am [Dine in]

There are not too many AYCE Mongolian restaurant in the first place let alone in Surrey. So when I found out about this charming little restaurant i had to give it a try. The restaurant is clean and quite nice for a mom and pop place. The food is like the other Mongolian restaurant out there. I swear they all must all have a cookie cutter set-up. The types of meat (chicken, pork, beef and lamb) and vegetables are very similar to the other AYCE Mongolian restaurant. Even to the font that the different sauce that is available is the same like the other AYCE Mongolian restanrant. What makes this place nice is the service is very friendly and the waitress trys to accomadate you the best she can. They try to cater to you the best they can if you have any allergies. Was impressed with the whole experience. Will venture back when I am in the mood for some delicious hot Mongolian food.

Good breakfast type restaurant, but the hype of DDD is what drawed us in origianlly
Submitted Tuesday, November 25, 2014 - 9:23pm [Dine in]

Went here for a late lunch or an early dinner at 330pm. Had to wait still for a table for 25 mins. The restaurant was filled. Ordered three breakfast specials which consist of toasts, eggs, bacon etc and I ordered the pork belly sandwich. The food was tasty and hot. The breakfast specials was very good and plentiful. The pork belly sandwich was delicious, a bit too rich if you did not ration the bread to pork. The service was decent and the ambiance was colorful to the area. I enjoyed the food and found the experience to be positive till we had to pay. When we first sat down to order, I mentioned that I had 2 entertainment coupon which states buy one meal and get the second meal free up to (approx. $10). I asked specifically if we could use both these coupons as we are ordering 4 entrees as we do not venture to Vancouver that ofter. The waitress stated yes. So when it came to pay the bill, we were told that they can only honor one of the coupon. I inquired why and the head waitress stated that our waitress is new and was not familiar with the entertainment coupon. If there was an issue or she felt that she did not know the answer, she should have asked someone who would known as the only reason we ordered 4 entrees is to use the coupons. If we were told only one coupon, then we would have ordered less as the kids did not eat that much. The head waitress try to press the issue that the waitress is new, but I said that was not my problem. Eventually they honored the entertainment coupon. A little misunderstanding but the overall experience at Red Wagon was positive.

Submitted Tuesday, November 25, 2014 - 9:06pm [Dine in]

Went here on a Tuesday night and found out that they had a specials for pasta. The restaurant is small but cozy. The service was prompt and the owner gave the kids some complimentary "Shirley Temple" drinks which was a very nice gesture. The restaurant was busy with take-outs as the door was constantly opening and closing for people who are picking up food. Ordered the seafood pasta, the baked meat cannelloni and the chicken souvlaki. The seafood pasta was tasty, hot and plentiful. The baked meat cannelloni was okay. There was a strange taste to the beef and the chicken souvlaki was pretty good but on the smaller side. Overall my experience was positive and I would return to try their pizzas as I hear raving reviews about them.

Submitted Tuesday, November 25, 2014 - 8:55pm [Dine in]

Went here with the family in tow as the previous reviews made this place a hidden gem. Well from my experience it was not. We ordered the following. 2 shrimp and pork wonton soup, one satay beef , one chicken with vegetables and one spicy chicken with vegetables. The wonton was $5.80 while the other dishes were $5.99 which came with soup and rice The dishes were okay, nothing special. The thing that was disappointing was that the chicken or beef dishes had more (filler) vegetables ie onions and broccoli that meat. There was like 8 pieces of vegetables to small piece of meat ratio. The flavor was lack luster, as they were more concern of getting the meals out than quality control. The wonton soup's broth had a weird aftertaste to it. And it was also too salty for my liking. I guess I should not expect much for the price, yet I have eaten at several other Chinese restaurants and received better value. I guess this restaurant is trying to cater to the Western palate. Will pass on this restaurant whenever I am craving for Chinese food.

Very good pasta restaurant in Langley
Submitted Tuesday, July 8, 2014 - 11:54pm [Dine in]

Wanted to try out Pasta Polo for awhile and also had a Entertainment coupon. Went here with the family and another family out of town. I ordered the daily special which was Seafood alfredo (crab, lobster, prawns ) in a white cream sauce with spinach pasta. Tasted very good and the service was spot on. The waitress was very friendly and catered to our families need. ie extra water and napkins. I can not say about the other dishes but my dish was very tasty. I was impressed and would venture back to this fine little restaurant in the near future.

Not the nicest area but the dimsum was decent.
Submitted Saturday, June 14, 2014 - 6:27pm [Dine in]

Went here with the family for some dimsum on the weekend. The prices are a little higher than other dimsum places in the Lower Mainland but for Surrey it was the norm. Average dimsum dish was $3.65. At least the dishes were big compare to other dimsum places in Surrey. Actually so far they have the better dimsum than local dimsum places (which are less than a handful) Had the usual dimsume fare like shrimp dumpling, pork dumpling, sticky rice, steamed shrimp rolls with sweet soy sauce, spring rolls etc. The food came out hot and fresh. The serivce was decent and attentive. The area on the other hand was less than desireable. I looked out the window and saw fire and ambulance helping a homeless person outside the building next door. Overall I would venture back when I crave a dimsum fix. I can not comment on the other dishes.

Good food but watch out for the slippery floors
Submitted Saturday, June 14, 2014 - 6:19pm [Dine in]

Went here after a workout with the better half. We ordered the the lunch specials. I ordered the ginger beef with rice and better half ordered the pad thai. The pad thai tasted too tangy for my liking but was still tasty. The ginger beef was very good. The presentation was decent and the quantity was the norm. The restaurant is small and the parking out front can be a challenge. I believe their is more parking in the back. One thing I have to note is to watch where you are walking as the tile floors can be very slippy. There is a carpet runner across the floor but if you steer off it , you more than likely fall. Be warned if you use the washroom as there is no carpet and the floor is very slippery. Pleasant experience and will try again in the near future.

Good food but not neccessarily in value
Submitted Saturday, June 14, 2014 - 5:44pm [Dine in]

Went here with the family the other day for a dinner. The restaurant was just over half full and the music was loud techno modern top 40. A bit too loud as it is hard to converse at times. Ordered the Tawainese deep fried pork chops, 3 sauce chicken, beef brisket with vegetables and the sitr fried lamb with garlic, onions and ginger. The food tasted good but the portion size could have been bigger and the cut of meat could have been better in the 3 sauce chicken. The pieces they used would be the part of chicken that I would usually discard. The beef brisket with vegetables only had 6 piesces of bite size beef. Tasted very good but need more meat. The sides dishes that comes with these meals was cut up cerlery in a dressing and corn nibbits with pieces of ham. The side dishes tasted ok but I would not specially order them if they did not come free witht the meal. All the dishes came with steam white rice. If I had not tried other type of Tawaines bubble tea restaurant I would come back, but there are other that warrant my business more.

Decent for a chinese restaurant in Delta
Submitted Saturday, June 14, 2014 - 4:29pm [Dine in]

Wernt here with a friend for some dimsum lunch. Ordered several dishes and was told that the dimsum was made fresh every day. The dimsum was decent but some of the dishes was exceptionally expensive considering what you get while others were void of taste. Some other ones was delicious but seem small for what you are paying. If I was hard up and did not want to travel outside of Surrey/Delta, then I might consider coming back. But I did not see the value for the dimsum. They also had some lunch specials where you get chinese spare ribs in black bean sauce with rice and a drink that was good value. Overall impression, will wait awhile before I return.

Good till the last 1/4 of the drink
Submitted Wednesday, May 28, 2014 - 1:35pm [Dine in]

Went here to order some bubble tea to go and use a coupon that stated buy one get another free from the Entertainment book. Apparentlty there was a typo and you have to ordered a "Black Bubble Tea" and get any other bubble tea free. Yet the prices are all the same and they insisted that it has to be Black Bubble Tea. and unfortunately I was wanting to try the Mocha bubble tea. We ended ordering the Taro and the Honey Milk Black Tea which tasted good but the Taro was so much better. When we were near the last 1/4 of the Taro I noticed that it started to taste weird and gritty. I figure that they did not mixed it enough to have the same consistency throughout the drink. Overall I enjoyed my bubble tea but would venture to other Big Orange to get my bubble tea fix.

Not the best not the worst pasta I ever had
Submitted Wednesday, May 28, 2014 - 1:28pm [Dine in]

Went here with the family and ordered 3 dishes. I was impressed from the size and the taste was decent. Far from the best but decent for what it is. The ingredients could have been better but for the amount you get, something has to suffer. The flavour from my dish New Orlean was oily and tasted ok, but my wife's dish was chicken and mushroom with dill cream sauce tasted far better. The kids 3 cheese alfredo was satisfactory. I would not rush back but if I was ever starving and craving pasta, then I would give this restaurant a go again.

AYCE lunch was meh....
Submitted Monday, May 19, 2014 - 7:57am [Dine in]

Went here with the kids for a nice lunch. We had the AYCE buffet but it was barely anyone there That should have been a sign that I should have walked out. We had butter chicken and goat curry with rice and garlic naan. The butter chicken was lacking flavour and the goat curry was decent. The garlic naan was tasty. Tried the other dishes but they were less memorable. After we started eating at 130pm, we were the only people there. The service was ok, as the waitress offered us some fresh garlic naan. The variety was nothing to mention. Most of the meat was gone except for the goat curry. It just seem that they are going through the motions and really do not care. I used a coupon that was in the newspaper so that the usually $11.99 buffet was $8.99. Would I ever go back even if it was $8.99, probably not as there are so many other East Indian restaurants that are so much better.

Who would have known a great sushi place in the not so great area
Submitted Monday, May 12, 2014 - 6:45am [Dine in]

Went here with the family and inlaws in tow. Ordered the assorted tempura, 62 pieces party tray, toro and salmon sashimi, chicken and beef terayaki dinner for the 4 adults and 2 kids. The service and the decor was great. From the looks outside and the neighbourhood, you would not have known that this restaurant would be so good. Was impressed that once you entered, you come into a very clean and professional establishment. The food came out fresh and tasty. The assorted tempura was hot and fresh. The chicken and beef terayaki could have used some more sauce as it was lacking. The party tray and the sashimi was awesome. Very impressed with the freshness and flavour. The price was a bit high, but you are paying for quality. Overall review is that I would return when I am craving good sushi.

Went here with the family in tow and went out to try some Taiwanese food. It is located in a small strip mall near Central City, but so worth the trip. The decor is clean and modern. The food is excellent. We had the House special chow mein, Taiwanese noodles with deep fried fish in a black pepper sauce, beef brisket with bamboo shoots and cabbage in a clay oven pot with rice and deep fried curry pork chops with rice. All the food came out hot and fresh. The taste was excellent. Very impressed, as I did not expected such tasty dishes. The service was great, very attentive and patience. They were able to answer all my questions with ease. Overall I am very impressed with this establishment. I will come again soon to try the other dishes and the tasty drinks.

Great Thai restaurant in Langley
Submitted Thursday, May 8, 2014 - 11:18am [Dine in]

Went here for a special occasion and was not disappointed. Read the reviews from other dinehere reviewers and for the most they were spot on. We ordered the sweet and sour snapper, the pad thai and panang curry pork with some white rice as the side dish. Better half ordered the mango alcohol drink which was tasty. All the dishes came out on unique plates. The sweet and sour snapper had a dish shaped like a fish. The panang curry pork came out on a triangle dish. The dishes were well presented and smelled even better. The food was all hot and fresh. Very satisfied with the taste and smell of the dishes. The price for the dishes are a little above the average for thai food, but you are paying for the ambiance and the whole experience. The service was good and attentive for the most part, they can forget small things like water and hot sauce, but to their defense they were busy doing takeouts and serving others. Overall, I was very happy with the restaurant and would recommend to others.

Gave it a try and not overly impressed
Submitted Friday, May 2, 2014 - 3:35pm [Dine in]

Went here with the kids to give this place a try. Read some previous reviews from other websites and they seem to like it. So we tried the lunch specials which was beef and vegetables on rice, chicken fried noodles and curry chicken on rice. The portions were average, leaning on the smaller sides, but for $5.95, it was decent value. The taste is nothing special, very westernized Chinese food. The ingredients were satisfactory. There was not an over abundance of meat in the dishes. Can me a Chinese food snob, but I found that this restaurant was nothing special. The decor was blah, needs to be updated. The service was great. The owner was very nice, but that does not take away the meh taste of the food.
