Taylor's Crossing Restaurant and Brewpub1035 Marine Drive, North Vancouver
Disgusted
Submitted Sunday, May 22, 2011 - 4:18pm [Dine in]

After my most recent visit to Taylor’s Crossing I can honestly say I will never step foot in that establishment again. There is no way to describe the true atrocity of their management and customer service. My last visit to Taylor’s left me stunned, speechless, and sick to my stomach. I was there with a group of approximately 12, as we sat upstairs to watch the hockey game. At the beginning of the night the service was great, our waitress was attentive, friendly, and polite. However, as the night started to come to a close, it all unraveled and we saw the managements true color’s. Our waitress had brought our bill all together rather than split so some of us put cash down while two others paid with debit cards. After our payment was completed, a few of us went downstairs to use the washroom, before proceeding to their patio to enjoy a few more drinks before continuing the rest of our night. As we came out of the washroom, and began towards the patio, the manager made a snide comment to three of the girls , thanking them for the “two dollar tip”. He said this in front of other customers, loud enough so that people were looking in their direction and bringing all attention to them. In that moment, were so shocked and taken aback all we could do was proceed to the patio, speechless. After a few minutes of discussing the bill and the amounts everyone had paid, we calculated that the waitress did indeed get a very nice tip. As our shock started to settle and our anger began to rise, we wanted answers explaining the rude and despicable service by the manager, Jody. To determine where this comment had come from; two members of the party went back inside to find the manager and discuss what the issue was. We asked the manager and the waitress for a copy of our bill and our payment transactions, as the waitress proceeded to tell us she doesn’t have our bill or payments and cannot reprint the receipt. We explained there could have been a mix up because our bill was all together, we could have calculated wrong and made a mistake. We were prepared to compensate the waitress accordingly if this was the case, as we were satisfied with her service. We asked the manager to justify his comment when he continued to blurt out insults and explain to us that if he were out with his friends he would not leave such a bad tip. Again, we were asking for our bill and record of payment so we could understand where this was coming from, as according to our calculations we had tipped her more than accordingly. The manager continued to insult us, and tell us they threw out the bill and cannot produce the payments. The members of our party ended up leaving distressed, insulted and absolutely outraged. After this to say the least, it was the most unprofessional, disgraceful, and completely disgusting establishment I have ever been to. The members of our party will no longer be going to Taylor’s crossing and will certainly not support anything to do with their business. I would strongly advise you against going here. As I would strongly advise the senior management of Taylor’s Crossing to look into their managers attitude and service with customers. He should not have the position he currently fills as he clearly showed he does not have the maturity, or professionalism to handle it.
