Their chocolate is good. But too expensive. I love black chocolate but this is nothing different except the outstanding packages. I tried their hot chocolate. Not that good either. Taste more like hot chocolate milk than hot chocolate. So it's just good to buy a gift for your mom because of the fancy box and because of the name.
I've tried their bagels, coffee, tea, sandwiches. Everything is ok for a coffee shop. They have cheap beer and open late so it's perfect to hang out with friends. Service is so-so.
But they have the best Espresso Milk Shake. So addictive. the other shakes are not that great tho.
And dont go to the washroom on the second floor because it's so gross.
I love this place even I dont like the line up. The sushi is just perfect. Not so much rice and the rice was soft exactly how its supposed to be.The avocado was perfect ripe and fresh. I tried their eggplant too but it was ok to my taste because I felt it was a bit oily. But they do have very good sushi. Service is good and efficient.
The BBT taste really good. Mango and cantaloup are my favourite. Not a big fan of other powder drink but their fresh food is very consistent. Service is fast too. The only thing is they take cash only. At that location, better take debit or credit card. I really like it because I can order half coconut jelly and half grass jelly with no extra charge.
I like their combos with the side dish. The food is good, nothing special but easy to eat compare to other chinese cuisine. And they have cheap milk tea. The price is cheap too. If you wander at crystall mall and try to find some safe place to eat, this is the one.
I've walked by this restaurant a lot of time and finally gave it a try. I order the cold potatoes to start, stir-fried cabbage and spicy tilapila. the potatoes and cabbage were ok but they have some weird taste to me, maybe because of a weird red spice on top of them. They're both too oily. I didnt like it but it was not the worst. When the tilapila came, it looks so good so I couldnt wait to dig on it. The first bite almost made me throw up. No offence, but it had too much garlic and again that weird red spice. Like the most garlicy food I've eated in my life. It gave me a kinda headache shock and the flavour didnt go away. I stopped eating and tried to drink water and chew gum after that but I still felt it for the rest of the night. Later I found out it was sichuan peppercorn. So if you're not familiar with " real" chinese food, you shouldnt try this restaurant. And the bill came pretty expensive too. So NO for me.
My favourite is roti canai, the tofu apertizer and their vegetable curry on the lunch menu. A lot of vegetable with a light curry sauce with rice for 6$ in a very nice ambient restaurant. I tried their seafood soup and I hated it . It was too fishy and they food some kind of stinky sauce in there so I dont recommend it. But overall, one of the best asian restaurant in vancouver.
I havent tried anything else except Ramen Salad or the Summer Special. I keep coming back there every week to eat them. And their burdock fry is incredible. Love them so much. I wish they change the seats tho. I always tell myself to try their other hot noodle but then I always end up order my cold ramen because I just can't say no :P
First of, it's one of a few viet restaurants offer 100% vegetarian food. They have veggie spring rolls with the rice paper not the wonton kinda thing which is awesome. They have the noodle soup with vegetable broth. I know some restaurants when they offer vegetarian food, instead of veggie broth you get tap water which is not cool.
Second, they have some cool and authentic vietnamese food. Their spicy chicken wings is awesome. I've tried Pnom Peng but I hate the service there. And their best dish is TAMARIND PRAWNS. The flavour is wonderful. Normal it comes with shell but you can ask them to remove the shell for your taste.
I'm not a big fan of noodle soup but go for their chicken soup or anything with chicken broth. It's light and taste just like the noodle in Vietnam .
Not to mention their subs are pretty good, and they have dry rice noodle with seafood which is a light noodle plate with soya sauce, very little oil and not stir-fried.
And last, all their food has no MSG at all which is another plus.
I went there for the first time at dinner time. Food was good but the price hurt. So I went back there for lunch and it's a awesome deal for such a high quality food. The pad thai has a lot of flavour and tasty. I love their fried wontons and the coleslaw with it. The only thing I dont like is the soup come with the main course. Its too garlicy. It almost ruined my appetite when I chew a bit of raw garlic in the soup by accident. Service is nice and fast. Ambient is good. I highly recommend.
Honestly, I dont like the Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese - Japanese restaurant. They're everywhere and serve the same food for hungry sushi craving people. Japanese know how to make their restaurants unique.
I'm not a big fan of sushi but the sushi in Miko is the best. I love that you can seat on the bar and watch the sushi chef making sushi for you. They have a lot of different appetizers and all of them is very unique. My favourite is Shitake butter, and BBQ eggplant. They even go better with beer . The service is good. Not fancy but casual. I keep bringing my friends here and they love it.
I have been trying Thai food around Vancouver and finally discovered this small restaurant. They have the best authentic Pad Thai so far compared to other pad thai. The noodle is soft not chewey and flavourful. Not like other Thai restaurant, their curry comes with rice ( in most of Thai restaurants, you have to order rice on the side ). I love their papaya salad, it tastes very fresh, can be a bit spicey but how its supposed to be. Their panang curry is awesome too.
Also they have very good deal for lunch with 2 spring rolls, salad with yummy homemade dressing and one main course.
The decor can be a little bit overwhelming with the green wall and umbrella but overall, the food is the best.
