Like fools, in June 2008, my wife and I went again to Tramonto restaurant, located on 3rd floor at the River Rock Casino. Service has slipped badly, and the food became quite poor.
Never dine on Monday or Tuesday at that place, because the Head Chef is not there. Thus the food served is unfit for consumption.
Prices became idiotic for what one gets, and to tell the truth, I don't know why in Hell we went there at all. The bill was close to
$ 500.00 and quite honestly it was a rip off. We should have stayed at the Casino and played.
The Dock Side Cafe, located on the ground floor is just as bad, with their "blackened" whatever you ask for. In short it means the cook has badly burned your steak or Burger.

The River Rock Resort in Richmond boasts three restaurants and a snack bar. That sounds great.
I have taken my wife a few times to the Tramato Restaurant located on the top floor of the River Rock Resort. Since I did not wish to drive I asked for the limousine service. We were assured that it was no problem.
Limousine never turned up, and so we were late arriving at the restaurant. Food was not bad.
On the following dining out at the same restaurant, the food became worse and the service not so great. The last time we tried to eat, we waited 25 minutes for horsdeuvers and then a further 45 minutes for main course. I must point out that there were only two other table with guests. We paid for the wine and horsdeuvers, and walked out for the last time.
The restaurant is very expensive and wines do not match the pathetic menu. I will mention here and now, that at no time had we left that place with a bill that was under $300.00 for two.
The second restaurant on the premises, called “The Dockside”, is modest. If you like to savour “Club Sandwich” with ice-cold chicken and shrivelled strip of bacon, then that is the place to eat it. Menu is limited choices.
The Runway offers good value for money.

We have frequented the Flying Beaver until 2006. Since then we had found other "watering holes". In 2008 January we went for lunch. It was a disaster. My "super duper burger" was a cold dried mess almost inedible with mushrooms heavily peppered!!. My wife's chicken as passable. The wine Zinfandel was from "unknown" vineyards and tasted like vinegar.
Food was late, and service very slow. Waiting for food was an experience.
Fortunately I paid only for wine and my wife's meal.
Why does a good place become poor and a rundown place?
