While my friends and I were shopping downtown, we stumbled upon Ebi-Ten. I tried the Teriyaki Chicken Udon Combo. It tasted yummy and I loved how the noodle texture is chewy. The soup base was a bit too salty from the teriyaki sauce. The combo was a good deal with the expected downtown prices! My friend had the tempura udon combo and her soup base tasted perfect. My other friend had the Tempura Rice bowl but didn't like the mayonnaise in it.
I love how reasonable the prices are. The store is run by Japanese people and the food tastes authentic. Service is quick and friendly. The next time I go downtown, I'm coming here for lunch.
I came here one evening with my mom and younger brothers. We arrived around 6:30 and the place was empty. The menu was pretty simple, with the basic noodles and side items.
We all ordered the beef ball noodle and it came in this huge bowl. It was presented very nicely, with the bean sprouts, carrots, etc. t didn't have the typical "Vietnamese" noodle taste I'm so use to. But it was tasty and filling. The service was friendly and quick. I may come back, but my family craves the salty msg noodles instead.
I love gelato, but this place is not my cup of tea. I like the selection of flavours, but it leaves a lingering aftertaste after eating it. I had the mint chocolate. It was good, but the aftertaste kinda ruined it. Same goes for the Root Beer flavour.
The decor is simple and appropriate. The tables are cute and its very bright and open. You can even buy buckets of gelato if you like. I believe the prices have rose yet shrunken in size scoops. I prefer the gelato in Aberdeen.
They serve the average westernized chinese dishes. I ordered a basic shredded beef and egg on rice, which was simple like the way I thought it would be. It was a huge dish! My family ordered the chicken alfredo noodles which was a bit bland. The chicken was tender and delicious, but the sauce had too much of a green pepper taste to it.
Service was friendly, but a bit intimidating. There were 4 servers on a Saturday night who stood around staring at customers. The decor's nice and bright. I probably won't come again, since I could find similar food in the Aberdeen food court for cheaper.
I often come here with my family when we're craving Vietnamese food. The steamed crepes (not too sure of the name) are delicious. I haven't been to many restaurants with this dish. The noodles are decent and the sandwich is alright. The spring rolls are big, but they're quite oily and it's so deep fried that the crispy-ness gets stuck in your teeth.
It's best to come during Happy Hour. When I went after 9pm, the portions were pretty big considering the cheaper prices.
This family owned japanese restaurant is something to come back for. Every saturday, I come here to pick up my lunch. The service is friendly and greets me everytime I walk through the door. You'll always here "thank you" and "arigato gozaimashita" when you leave. The donburi and udon are delicious, as well as the bentos. I wish they had bigger portion sizes for the sushi. I ordered dynamite & california rolls, and they were tiny! I keep coming back because of its authentic taste.
At first glance from the exterior, this place looks like an average family restaurant. It's true from the outside, but the food is really good. The soup noodles are delicious and warm. The noodle texture is tasty as well as the soup base. I tried the pork intestines the other day and it was yummy. A place to go for a quick hearty meal.
White Spot is one of those great family restaurants. The meals are savory, but priced a bit higher than I prefer. I love the turkey sandwich meal. The pasta tastes a bit plain and lacks a certain taste. The kids pirate ship is a cute idea. My little brother usually has the macaroni and cheese and I love to steal some of his pasta. The only problem is having to wait for the meal. The wait is long most of the time. The service is friendly and answers our requests with a smile.
I've always liked pizza. So when I heard of Strawberry Cones, I was excited. The pizza had such unusual toppings, such as lobster, tuna, and mayonnaise. My family and I tried the hokkaido potato tunna and teriyaki mochi chicken. The potato tuna one was very...oily. And messy. It tasted really odd with all the mayo potato egg salad as the sauce. The mochi chicken was better, not as greasy and messy. I liked the imomochi toppings. Would I come back? Well, maybe only for the teriyaki mochi chicken pizza.
My family only comes here when it's late out and no restaurants are open. The pho tastes decent, but the atmosphere is horrible. The tables and chairs are sticky and the servers only acknowledge you when you're ordering and paying. We had to grab our own extra bowls and forks. I'm not very impressed with this pho house, and prefer to go to other restaurants. We're always hesitant to give a tip because of how neglected we felt from the staff.
The food is average, with the wonton noodle tasting best. The food tasted very "westernized chinese food". Meals arrived very fast and hot. Waitresses were nice but looked at us funny when we didn't know how to reply back in cantonese (I'm Chinese). The restaurant was clean but a bit drafty. I would come back again if I needed a quick meal to eat.
These empanadas are good. It is a crust that's stuffed with meat, seafood, or cheese and fried/baked (?). It reminds me of Pizza Pops, just without the pizza sauce and better. The cheese & ham is enjoyable, but I prefer the chicken. The only thing I wished they had was more variety. Maybe some other kind of Chilean food.
The drinks are delicious. I've been to bubble queen many times, and the drinks are always fresh and yummy. The fresh fruit especially. I usually get the real fruit honeydew slush with coconut jelly or the cookies and cream slush. The milk tea drink is pretty average. The green tea & strawberry egg balls are flavourful but a bit soggy. The service is friendly and patient. The wait time is long though. Don't expect to quickly buy bubble tea and dash out the door if you're in a hurry.
I've been to banzai a couple of times with my family of five. I love how the portions of fish and sushi is huge. They have some over sized california rolls that I like. For a reasonable price, we ordered only three dishes and it filled my whole family up. The salmon sushi is okay, just a bit chewy. The rolls are yummy, especially the teriyaki chicken roll. The donburi rice bowl is pretty good, just with a little off-taste in the sauce.
The service was friendly, but it was hard to call someone over due to the number of pickup orders. The place is small and very simple looking.
I went to Shabusen with a huge group of friends (16 of us). The service was pretty good considering the amount of demanding people they were serving. They responded quickly to our requests. The food was pretty delicious, especially the sushi. All you can eat sashimi! Barbecuing the meat was interesting. I was constantly worried about getting food contamination because the tongs touched raw meat.
The pricing was decent for an all-you-can-eat place. It includes unlimited meat and fish, so it's reasonable. The ambiance was nice, a little too dark for my liking. Overall, it's a good place to go if you're starving for some delicous food.
