The dim sum at Red Star is excellent. There do not use carts, so the food is always fresh and they use high quality ingredients. The seafood (e.g. prawns) they use are particularly fresh and yummy. I really enjoyed the steamed buns (bbq and chicken/vegetable). The staff were friendly and efficient. I will definitely be going back soon!
My husband and I enjoyed the food here. The xiao long bao was really nice, but the bbq duck we had was dry. We thought it was kind of weird that they would not take credit or debit. It was very busy and no room to wait. The staff were quick, but didn't talk to us at all. A place I would come back for the food - not for the ambiance or service.
I have both eaten at the restaurant and have ordered delivery. The restaurant is very small and is more popular for take out. The service in the restaurant was good, but they were sometimes distracted with the rush of take-out orders. This was fine with me, because I knew that the wait would be worth it. The delivery is excellent too - but you have to wait until 4:15pm to place an order. The food arrived in about 40min - so not too long of a wait and the delivery person was very polite.
The food is very good here - I have had the chance to try both of the thali plates (veg and non-veg), the butter chicken, mutter paneer and malai kofta. The veg thali plate was good - but it's probably better to order dishes you really like. The non-veg plate was excellent - a good variety of dishes. The malai kofta and butter were fantastic, but the mutter paneer was not as good as I have had elsewhere. Still, the quality of the food here is outstanding, for the price. Also, if you have a chance - try the king tandoori or garlic naan - they are excellent too! The desserts at the restaurant are pretty standard for indian restaurants, but good.
Overall, if you are looking for an indian place with good food at a reasonable price - from good people - try this place - it's going to be my staple when I am in the mood for Indian delivery.
